On the lack of Break Months this year

For anyone who has kept up with The Jojolands since the start, you'll notice that the part has consistently taken October off for breaks, but for some reason didn't this time. I don't think I've seen anyone mention this as weird or notable on the subreddit yet, so I thought I'd write out my explanation for why this was most likely done.

With Part 9 beginning in February, the chapter numbers were just one off from being aligned with the months during their releases, but with October being a break month, it means that Chapter 9 released on November. With the repeated importance put onto the number 9 and the month of November, this just makes perfect sense. Everything lines up.

But for 2026, another bit number is coming up this November, and would have been totally missed had October been another break month like the past couple years. October's release is going to be Chapter 998 of the series whole, meaning Chapter 999 is releasing in November.

I sort of expect this to mean December will be a break month in their steads, but if Chapter 1000 is this December I'd be totally up to call 2026 one of the best years for the series in a long time, in terms of milestones and events.

Lowkey Obsessed with Jodio's Joescar

Included a sketch I did here but it's less important than just wanting to quickly ramble about the Joestar Birthmark (his Joestar Joescar) revelation we got in the new chapter

Which, first of all: I hope this becomes a recurring visual for Jodio in the future, showing how he's the "bad" jojo by having his birthmark be damaged, like the physical representation of his bloodline, place in the family and the Joestar Spirit was tarnished. The mark that shows he's the hero, that he's supposed to be a vessel of justice, is busted.

Getting the revelation that his birthmark is where he got shot while the sticker stand's spirits are telling him that society's rules are corrupt and taunts him for his vengeful fury is really compelling, too. That Jodio's quiet acceptance is a mask for how Mad he is at the world.

He was already my favorite protagonist before this but honestly this chapter would've done it for me if he wasn't already. Jodio is really something special, Araki's refusal to back down on making his newest hero into an angry kid lashing out against an unfair world is great and feels like the perfect fit for the era it takes place in tbh
