After Market Windshield Replacement & Calibration

Why is the SafeLite calibration only covered for 30 days? Nobody told me about this otherwise I would have paid up the $300 extra for the OEM. What do I need to test, lane assist cameras, what else?

Windschield Replacement

We had a crack from a while back that I ignored for a few months but now a second one opened up right below that’s running parallel to it. I was planning to wait for a while but this might just bust while driving on the Highway so do I need to go with an original VW OEM at the VW dealership or can I have a local glass guy replace it with knock-offs?

Sport Mode

I switched to Sport mode and like that a lot better. It feels less edgy more elastic if you know what I mean 🤣. I also turned off a few options re lane support in travel assist that felt half baked as they sometimes work (usually straight ahead but certainly not more curvy road) as well as lane changing. The only thing I left on is lane alert (when view on incoming car on lane I am changing into is blocked).

This works a lot better for now. To the point I don’t switch to my Corolla when it’s just me driving (yeah also because home charging is almost free for me now) but also I was getting a bit averse to driving something that felt like a little truck.

Still haggling with home charging schedule and also it doesn’t lock the door automatically when we leave and we keep getting messages it’s unlocked. We did the recall but apparently that hasn’t fixed the issue.

I figured out how to set up charging at home in the VW s/w as well as preferred times for charging and then when I initially checked it appears the timer setup was working yesterday.

Then today it overran the 2pm stop (was still charging at 3pm) when I checked in the app so I turned off charging manually.

It’s setup to charge at the SDGE Super off peak hours 12am-6am and then 10am - 2pm.

Anyone have an idea what the glitch could be due to?

I am using the VW supplied Level 1 110V charger connected to regular AC.
