how do you plan out for a trip connecting multiple tourist places?? like do you prebook all hotels/hostels and prebook all tickets in india (especially the train tickets)

Also if the travellers are college girls with kinda limited budget!!

What's the best way to book any hostels and train tickets in such cases...???

P.S. - the travel destinations are basically in North India..

Do suggest tips and advices...
