Shri Nityananda Prabhu walks slowly, like an elephant, because he carries on his shoulders the immense "weight" of Goura Prem. His state of divine intoxication is a direct response to the magnitude of this eternally nurturing love.
The devotee performs their Bhajan primarily to learn to carry this burden as well. This process is compared to that of an athlete who gradually trains to lift ten, then one hundred, and then two hundred kilograms; the practitioner must strengthen their inner capacity step by step.
The concept of the "weight" of Prem refers to the fact that divine love is not a light feeling, but a heavy burden that requires profound spiritual preparation to be received. Even Krishna (as Mahaprabhu) does not have the ability to "carry" or contain this weight on his own; for example, he would lose control of his body, shout, and become agitated when the ecstasy of Prem arose in his heart.
"Since Prem is an immense burden, Krishna does not bestow it upon those who are unprepared. If such a high ecstasy were given to someone without the capacity to assimilate it, the practitioner would not be able to withstand the intensity of such feelings."

“I will tell you a mantra that is hidden throughout the Vedas and is not found anywhere in the most confidential scriptures. When a person chants this mantra, great spiritual perfections come to their feet, and the opulences of the Supreme Personality of Godhead manifest in their hands. For a person chanting this mantra, there are no commands or prohibitions. A person who understands the dust of the lotus feet of this mantra purifies those who know the rules of the Vedas. This mantra is the sweetest nectar. It is the auspiciousness of all auspiciousness. It is filled with all boundless, wonderful glory. It is the attainment of all attainments. It is the ultimate goal of all goals. It is the most unrestrained and intense happiness of all. They say it is the secret of all secrets. Without thinking of anything else, day and night chant this mantra: Radha.”
