Obsessed with my first emerald cut 💎

I’m obsessed with my first emerald cut diamond. 😍 The step-cut reflections are so mesmerizing.

Thanks to Romy at LGG for bringing my delicate east-west setting to life. My local jeweler did his best setting the stone. It’s not perfect, but it’s secure. I love this new right-hand ring!

This culet clearance is making me nervous 😂

Either this is precision engineering… or pure luck.

I just got my new low-profile ring back from my local jeweler. The diamond was purchased loose, and the setting was custom made overseas. The goal was to get the ring as low as possible. Well… this is the result. 🤭

The culet clearance is basically measured in microns. 😂 I checked it with a loupe, and the culet isn’t touching the bottom —the jeweler confirmed it too.

Now I’m wondering…
* Is this actually a concern long-term?
* Or is this just an example of really precise engineering?
* Would you leave it as is, or would you want a little more clearance for peace of mind?

My first purchase from Carbon Sparkle and I somehow found an interesting one 😂

I ordered a 2.61 ct Fancy Vivid Blue OEC from Carbon Sparkle since they had the best price I could find. I hadn’t seen many reviews, but figured I’d give them a try and use the savings towards the setting.

The next morning, they emailed saying the diamond has two different laser inscriptions. Not two of the same report—two completely different report numbers! 😂

They pulled both reports, got microscope photos, and confirmed it’s the same diamond. One report graded it as a Round Modified Brilliant (VS1), and a month later it was regraded as an Old European Cut (VS2) with a new report number. Both inscriptions are still on the stone. 🤣

I thought it was pretty funny—this diamond has probably been inspected more than most.

Props to Carbon Sparkle for being transparent and reaching out before shipping. Not a full review yet since I haven’t received it, but customer service and communication have been great so far.

Now I can’t wait for it to arrive so I can put it in a milgrain bezel and hide both inscriptions.

Has anyone else seen a diamond with two laser inscriptions?

Also, what do you think of the OEC? I’d love opinions on the cut pattern and color.

I recently got into old European cut and love the look (specifically flower pattern), but I’m still learning how to judge cut quality and what to avoid.

OEC experts — would really appreciate your help reviewing the Loupe360 video for this particular one (report in comment). Does this look like a well-cut OEC?

Just received another custom jewelry from Romy today and I’m seriously impressed (again).

She’s responsive and really listens. I wasn’t sold on the initial pair of diamonds, sent one reply message about the shape, then an hour later she came back with a set that matched exactly what I had in mind 🤩 The earrings turned out exactly like the CAD. Beautiful craftsmanship and a seamless process 🙌🏼
