Looking to compare length/width of elongated cushion cut

Hi everyone!

My boyfriend and I are getting close to purchasing an elongated cushion cut lab grown diamond for my engagement ring. We’re currently deciding between a few different length-to-width ratios and would love to see real-life examples before making a final decision.
We’re looking in the 2.5–3.5 ct range (likely around 3 ct). We don’t have many jewelers nearby that have enough options to compare.

If you have an elongated cushion in this size range, would you mind sharing:
-a photo if you’re comfortable
-ct weight
-length/width ratios

I’d especially love to compare ratios around 1.35, 1.40, 1.45, and 1.50, but I’d appreciate seeing any elongated cushion.

Thank you in advance!

7 of my favorite Diamond Rings in my collection

There are 2 things that completely changed my way of looking at jewelry and what is possible to collect, Lab diamonds and Chinese vendors selling custom settings at wholesale prices to the public.

There is no reason anymore not to create your dream ring, or own multiple diamond rings because Lab diamonds are up to 99.5% less than their natural counterparts and while gold and platinum still are not cheap, by using a Chinese manufacturer to directly make your custom setting , you can save many thousands of dollars. My most expensive setting was $1465, is made of Platinum and contains well over 1 carat of side diamonds. It was inspired by an $11,000 designer setting.

You can start with a lab diamond you love or find the setting first. Both methods work great although lately I've tended towards finding a setting for inspiration first. Ai to design a ring or Photoshop are both great tools to tailor a setting design to your own tastes.

All 7 settings pictured are 14k or Platinum. All were made by Fayjewelry from pictures or designs I submitted.

Lab diamonds are from all different sources but currently the cheapest for me is Altura Diamonds.

I use Gemini, ChatGPT, CoPilot and Grok to alter or completely create original OOAK settings. I use Photoshop to also alter designs.

Lab diamonds and Chinese manufacturing mean you can now walk around wearing a $35,000 ring you paid $1,300 for and it's still real gold and real diamonds.

I am always happy to answer questions about how to create your dream ring.

What to look for

Working on getting my first lab diamond! I’m wanting an emerald between 1.8-2.7 carats.

I know about the 4 Cs, but don’t know anything about table / depth / measurement / ratio.

Is there anyone on here that would be willing to help me learn / help me look on aurélinne or calavera? Thanks 🫶🏼

Obsessed with my first emerald cut 💎

I’m obsessed with my first emerald cut diamond. 😍 The step-cut reflections are so mesmerizing.

Thanks to Romy at LGG for bringing my delicate east-west setting to life. My local jeweler did his best setting the stone. It’s not perfect, but it’s secure. I love this new right-hand ring!

My 17th wedding anniversary gift!

Spent a long time looking for the perfect ring and found one on eBay. Got it made and was delivered to me recently! I love it so much I bought the band after I got the ring (still being made). I was going to wear a previous band with it but it didn’t look good.

This ring is a 4.50CT radiant cut and the main stone is 4.06 in 14k white gold

My last ring was a matching set with a 1.50 cut cornered rectangular modified brilliant lab diamond.

I’m so in love with this ring, I never want to take it off! Even though it gets caught in my long curly hair a lot!

My ring size is a 4.75, I’m part of the tiny hands club lol. If you have tiny hands, don’t shy away from big stones! I thought it would be too big for my petite hands. It is not!

Elongated Cushion - What to Look For?

Hi everyone, I am the hunt for an elongated cushion center stone between 2.5 and 3.5 carats. I love the look of an antique cut. What are your thoughts of this stone? Anything I should look out for? Thank you!

Do you like?

Thoughts? Which style look better?

If you seen my hand, would you think I’m married?

One is white gold.

One is fake, sterling silver.

Mini brag moment!

Backstory: for the last 6 months my bf and I have been working with a private jeweler and begin building my engagement ring. After 6 long months, we were finally able to pick out ‘the one’ this weekend and I’m obsessed and beyond proud! Our jeweler kept joking that sourcing it was like trying to find a purple unicorn with 3 spots on it because I was wanting something so specific 😅

TikTok Auctions

So totally new in the world of lab diamonds but I couldn’t help myself & sniped a few diamonds from the $1 auctions.

I decided to start low & go for the smaller carats just to see if they were trusted and bout .33 pair of VVS1 D brilliant radiants for about $150ish.

I received them today & went to a jeweler to check them and the inscriptions & everything matches the IGI report.

So I then went back to the auction & purchased a 1.46 pear ($279) & a 1.5 emerald ($289) for a toi et moi.

Are these prices standard or will they be better elsewhere?

Ring like this?

Does anyone have a ring like this they could share pics of? Thinking of getting a crisscut east west ring for my right hand ring finger

4-prong or 6-prong for a 4ct solitaire?

Hi everyone! She said yes, and our engagement is coming up soon, so I'm finally getting her engagement ring made. This is my first time buying a diamond ring, and I'd really appreciate some advice before I give the final approval.

I've attached 3 images. The first is the reference ring I sent my vendor, and the other two are the CAD renders they created.

My vendor keeps suggesting that I either switch to a 6-prong setting or keep the gallery rail. Personally, I don't want a gallery rail because I prefer the cleaner, more open look, so I'm trying to decide whether I should stick with 4 prongs or go with 6 prongs for a 4.05 ct round diamond.

I'm also paying $1,400 for a 4.05 ct E VVS2 lab-grown diamond. Does that seem like a fair price?
I found Shiv Diamond Cartel through Instagram, and my experience with them so far has been good, but I couldn't find many independent reviews online. Has anyone here purchased from them or heard of them? I'd really appreciate any feedback before I move forward.

Thanks in advance! I just want to make sure I get everything right before the engagement.

Edit: The price is inclusive of all: 18k gold setting + stone + shipping to Scranton

Another project complete

This is my second project with Fay Jewelry. Set with my vivid green diamond, side sapphires and more diamonds. Thank you Cherry for a stunning mount! The bench setter was impressed by the quality and perfect fit for the stone. (2 carat, vvs2, luvansh) I'm just happy with the whole thing. The picture doesn't do it justice.

Auction Win (First Lab Diamond Purchase - Need Input)

Hello, I recently bought my first lab grown diamonds ever as I was able to get them for very cheap in the auction. Ideally I am looking at saving some for my family’s upcoming holidays & potentially selling 1 or 2 items. I am curious if anyone in this group could give me some input as to what the ROUGH actual value of these could be vs what it says on the “estimated retail value”. I’m sure it’s inflated, but the deal was too good & should still shake out well for me! Thanks in advance!

Custom pendant vendor

I'm shopping for a 3-4 ct Solitaire pendant. I have really liked Ritani, being able to pick out a diamond, and then have it out into a setting and delivered. Unfortunately none of the settings are meeting my wife's fancy.

There are many websites that have similar features for building a ring, but I can't find any others that let you build a necklace, any recommendations?

Where to buy affordable engagement rings, but styled like this so it doesn't look like an engagement ring

I like how Emrata and Lori Harvey have it on their pinky ring and stack it. So ideally something under $200. Any ideas?

Difficult time finding a stone

Hi all! Needed a vent and advice. I discovered lab diamonds a few weeks ago and have gone all in on sourcing a diamond and creating a custom ring. I've looked in stores to get an idea of size and shape, and everytime I think I've landed on the perfect one it's not it. I am really really picky about black spots and bowties, but of course I love all the elongated cuts. I believe what I am looking for is the bijou lab constellation cut or the Jann Paul flame cut. However both of those designers are out of my price range. I'm working with Romy/LGG and Carbon Sparkle and both have been incredibly patient with me. The short 10 second videos we get from the labs just aren't the same as incredible videos on Instagram or a website. I've requested longer more detailed videos in different lighting but I've then lost out on stones waiting for the video. And today...the final straw. I found a dutch marquise brilliant crushed ice cut, 4cts, and it got lost/stolen during delivery. I'm so sad and frustrated and also very aware I am complaining about not being able to find the perfect diamond. :) Attached and in comments are some videos of a crushed ice marquise I am considering now while i mourn the loss of my Dutch marquise.
