A detour on the way back from Vegas

A detour on the way back from Vegas
Probably not a new question, here is the scenario: Me 55 male married w family, good shape. Current Endo is pretty nice, so good relationship there & is fine. Heres where the wonder lies. My career has involved not being able to break away to do a weekday appt. Last was lat Jan. 26. When time opened up, naturally bolted to the outdoors & roadtrips for much needed vaca. Since its been a minute, I had to make an appt (Next week) to get re-upped on Dexcom G7 & another round of insulin. Currently working on a 3 month supply of Lantus that will run out sometime late Sept-Early Oct. Really, with all this I feel like the Endo doesn’t provide much value, I mean, essentially she’s there to refill prescriptions. I’m sure that’s not lost on them. They want to bill the insurance and make money I get it. But in essence I feel held hostage to have to see them in order to get the prescriptions, and I feel like when I see her next week she’s gonna do a minimal refill to the end of the year just so she can lock me in at least one more time this year or early January. Not to mention not in the mood to hear any input at all. I am doing everything I can to maintain, & in short of a personal dietitian prepping my meals I don’t see much more information than I can possibly know or have already experienced in that regard. Diagnosed in the lovely
year of 2020, so still fairly new at this game, is this pretty much the way it is? Are there viable options? Haven’t seen much in the way of specialists being available doing weekend appointments which as we all know is a bit on the inconvenient side. Not to mention finding somebody new means blood work and going through the whole process with the possibility of getting somebody the same or even worse and it just repeats itself. Thoughts?
