The start of the Mimic M6 because I’m insane

M5 is quickly being reformatted into M6 because… he has a weight problem. Theoretically I can complete him but his industrial linear actuators was too heavy and I’m tired of building huge heavy robots. So M6 here (is getting heavy but I’ll moderate that) is focusing on being lighter and simpler. His mind will still be the same but I want him to experiment with walking so NO MORE 300+ POUND ROBOTS. damn.

Like I mentioned in my last Mimic post here, I’m reusing M2s feet but now I’m also reusing his head. I was rushing to make a head last night and remembered that I never threw this one away. M6 doesn’t need a complex head anyway. Now I just need to make sure he’s balanced which for the most part he is but when his arms move, his feet are too small so he leans on his wheels and almost falls. As you can probably tell from this picture, he’s like 7 ft tall and yes he fell completely. Thankfully nothing was damaged. He can extend more since I’m using long extending painting rods for his legs. That’ll be fun to work with. Anyways, M6 is coming

Android Foxxet’s facial

Android Foxxet is currently testing out some experimental facial modification that’ll soon be available for all the other ANDROIDS during purchase product customization. This is also to break the ANDROIDS into their next iteration so they must get used to more “human features”. Foxxet hasn’t received her extra teeth in this form but she quickly adapted to it and found it easier to eat without her longer nose.

Despite getting modified in her face, Nitro neglected her lazy eye. Apparently that’s “too hard” to fix.

VIXEN my quadruped robot Fox companion

She’s an extension of my Mimic robot project. I started making micro robots with bits of his code so I can take them on the go with me since mostly everything in life bores me unless it’s my gf or robots. Vixen is just one of the micro bots and I finally got her mic to work. I need to update her learning code so she knows how to hold conversations somewhat and make her more aware.

Her response time is lacking but I don’t mind. I imagined her as a slightly “slow” character when making her, someone who won’t always listen to me and likes to dilly dally doing her own stuff. So the lackluster ai kinda works. Also, running visual processing, audio processing, responses and servo movements on a tiny raspberry pi zero is already doing a lot. I should be thankful she didn’t blow up from just one question.

The mimic M5 fell over during the night

Thankfully he’s all good. Ngl, I was getting upset thinking that his servos were broken and I’d have to replace them. They were making an awful buzzing noise when he was face planted. Somehow they were okay.

The MIMIC M5 in production

I would like to announce that M5 is in production. His new parts will be coming today and tomorrow so if I lock in I could probably have his whole upper body built by Thursday or Friday. I just need to manage my time well after work but I only get about 2 to 3 hours to build in peace. So like I said, if I lock in, y’all will get a treat.

In this art I focused on his limb motors (the red blocks) since M4 never got functioning arms. I had to recycle M2s arms for some other bots and M3 was so experimental that I literally lack the technology to complete his limbs unless I had a magnet the size of a truck.

M5 will use the slightly upgraded head of M4 and possibly the torso ribs (not in this art, in his irl pic) for mounting ease. This time I ordered enough linear actuators and a better power supply to properly provide the right voltages to all the actuators without worry of a burnout or fire unlike last time…

I was gonna reuse M3s torso but I fear that might be too heavy. I will however use M3s legs. Yes they are very heavy duty linear actuators but that saves me more money and time. As of typing this I just remembered I could reuse M2s feet since they were pretty good, just lacking toes.

If all goes well, I should quickly be able to have him moving his whole upper body, the legs are a different story. It’s hard as hell to get a robot the size of a grown adult to walk, that’s why most of the humanoid bots y’all see online are like 4ft. I’ll still try though and if I train and simulate his movements, I would eventually be able to get him walking. It’ll just take more time because I have to take in account his alternate sizes reacting to physics and gravity and possibly extending himself in mid movement may cause a lot of fails.

Oc THE ANDROIDS, “Guys night”

THE ANDROIDS, main guys team finished with their headshot pics for the difficulty screen.

In case you didn’t see the early bot renders a few months ago, I’ll retell the names. The sweet blue dog is Max the puppy, the White Wolf is Wolfie Luna, and you all know me.

I just need to clarify, Max is not that tall. Neither is Nitro. The characters were scaled for this poster. Max is damn near 5 1/2 ft, Nitro is roughly 10ft and Wolfie is roughly 12 ft.

A little error but slightly amusing thing in Wolfie’s headshot is that he has slightly more hair than usual. I accidentally left her hair down instead of behind her head when I was testing styles. Now it just looks like they let some of their hair down for the pic.

A random fact: all the guys wear black lipstick. Max and Wolfie also wear eyeliner but Nitro doesn’t, he wears extension lashes. His cavity eyes often hides his lashes when he’s mean mugging someone so he often just looks off putting with gauntly “skull like” features.
