Operation Safed Sagar: The Original Clip Broke My Heart
One thing that really didn’t work for me in Operation Safed Sagar was the portrayal of Alka Ahuja. Her grief after Ajay Ahuja’s death felt far too restrained on screen.
When you watch the original footage of Alka and her son, the pain feels raw and heartbreaking. You can see the shock, helplessness and devastation of losing someone you love. That footage genuinely brought tears to my eyes.
In the series, however, I felt the performance relied too much on the same expression throughout, with very little emotional variation. For a moment this heartbreaking, I expected the scene to carry at least some of the raw emotion that the real footage had.
And yes, we understand that she is the wife of an Air Force officer and that military families are incredibly strong. But being strong or being an Air Force wife doesn’t mean a person stops being human or stops having emotions. Grief is still grief.
For me, the real Alka Ahuja and her son in that original footage conveyed more emotion than the entire dramatized scene. The original clip honestly broke my heart.
Unpopular Opinion: Shivangi Was Never Really Trying to Save Shreya 👀
Unpopular opinion, but I feel like when Shivangi acted as though she was trying to save Shreya, it was all part of her game. She already knew that Akanksha Choudhary and Pamala weren’t going to save Shreya. So, when they said, “I don’t think anyone is going to save Shreya,” Shivangi immediately said, “No, I want to save her.” But in the end, she quickly went ahead and saved Dheeraj instead.
And ever since that episode, she has been narrating the whole situation as if she was genuinely supporting Shreya and trying to save her.
