Having a niche professional degree is a privilege, and treating people who don't know about the work we do with condescension does our profession a disservice.
The vast majority of people would be willing to learn about a career they haven't heard of, especially if you treat them with respect and without judgement.
The snide comments about "laymen" in the post going around today are petty and immature. These are not only the people who we're supposed to serve in public/public-facing work, they're also the ones building our projects, making them a reality.

Gavin Harrison's casual wizardry.
Hands down my favorite drummer. Innovative, technically masterful, and very accessible to fans. Videos like these and his books Rhythmic Illusions and Rhythmic Horizons have completely changed my approach to the instrument.

Playing kick drum causes buzzing from TAMA internal tom mufflers
I have a late 70's TAMA Royalstar with new internal mufflers in each of the toms (12, 13, and 16). Playing the kick causes buzzing in the rack tom mufflers, especially the 12 inch.
Adjusting the tension of the muffler fixes it for a few kicks, but it always comes back. It doesn't matter if the mufflers are engaged or not, so I'm having a hard time pinpointing what is buzzing, or where, when, why, etc.
I'd prefer leaving them in because they were stupid expensive and the wrap around their mounting holes is cracking. Can someone save me from thinking these were a bad buy?

This was after Haslam acknowledged all Giannis has done for the franchise. It very much felt like they're leaning towards parting ways.
Horst confirms Giannis wasn't consulted and didn't meet with Jenkins.
Haslam said they haven't talked to Giannis or decided on his future yet.
Jenkins said he heard from Giannis, who expressed excitement for Jenkins and his family.
