Dogtra Compass?

I would like a tracking option for my puppy because he's half coonhound and gets really distracted by smells so I'm honestly afraid to let him off leash in case he were to decide to ignore me. I would also like to try tracking or hunting with him. I'd just feel a lot better if I could track him.

Anyway, having similar functionality to the Ecollar I'm used to (mini educator) is important to me as well. I also was considering the Garmin Pro 550+, but it only has 18 levels of stim and a 2 mile radius. The Dogtra Compass seems like the best option for me and what I'm looking for, and especially being a better price I could get a collar for both of my dogs now instead of waiting.

The only thing is, I personally am worried with the Compass being so new, that they haven't worked out the kinks yet and I'm nervous to spend so much money on something that won't last long or doesn't do what I got it for.

So, opinions? Anyone have issues with the Compass/Pathfinder2 setup?

Dogtra Compass?

So I had a mini educator for over 8 years, used with 4 different dogs and it finally broke, and I'm in need of a new Ecollar.

I would like a tracking option for my puppy because he's half coonhound and gets really distracted by smells so I'm honestly afraid to let him off leash in case he were to decide to ignore me. I'd just feel a lot better if I could also track him. I also have a doberman who is really incredibly unlikely to ever run off because she will die if I'm not in her sight lmao

Anyway, having similar functionality to the mini educator is important to me as well. I also was considering the Garmin Pro 550+, but it only has 18 levels of stim and a 2 mile radius. The Dogtra Compass seems like the best option for me and what I'm looking for, and especially being a better price I could get a collar for both of my dogs now instead of waiting.

The only thing is, I personally am worried with the Compass being so new, that they haven't perfected it yet and I'm nervous to spend so much money on something that won't last long or doesn't do what I got it for.

So, opinions? Anyone have issues with the Compass/Pathfinder2 setup?

Any way to hide my location without turning off GPS?

I am going to adopt a puppy in a few days and want to surprise my husband with it, but it's a 3 hour drive and I will need to use GPS to navigate there. I can't just leave my phone at home or turn my location off/use airplane mode since I need GPS.

My husband will be at work all day and likely won't be looking at my location but occasionally he does, and with my luck that will be the day he looks 🙃 and if he asks why I'm across the state, I don't have any excuse other than tell him the truth. Is there any other way to hide my location that won't tip him off?

(This pup is a re-home, we just lost our older dog and my husband absolutely wants another one and would be stoked to have one, plus I'm the one who mostly takes care of the dogs anyway. So I don't wanna hear about it being irresponsible lol the pup will be very well cared for and loved.)
