Driveway Issue
I’m a homeowner building a new home in the Deep South (not FL) that is in the 100 year flood zone. We are nearly done (so cannot back out), but contractor realized that we are over impervious requirements. We will need to decrease the impervious on our 2 car driveway. Which option would you choose and why?
—Narrow driveway at 20 or 21’ wide
—Wider driveway at 22 or 23’ with grass ribbon strip between two 10’ driveways a portion of the driveway midway, but with apron and driveway at garage without the ribbon
—Using permeable materials, TRUEGRID or interlocking pavers or another material
—Or something else?
Priority for us is not breaking the bank, aesthetics, and being able to add/modify driveway after CO if we need to without redoing the whole thing.
Any advice welcome.
