Purchasing Advice (Revised)

So I’m just getting started. I have Revised Core, the complete saga, Mirkwood, and the four starter decks. I know that’s plenty to get started and then some, but I want to be able to get stuff while it’s still available and I don’t know which direction to go.

1.) First I’m wondering of the Hero expansions, which one would create a better card pool for a thematic playthrough of the saga?

2.) Aragorn and Dunedain are my favorite characters/archetype in all of LOTR and the Agmar theme is the most appealing to me outside of the saga. Though, it seems it is the most difficult and the thematic archetype for the campaign of Dunedain is the weakest. Especially considering I will be playing solo, though could two hand. Is it possible to enjoy the thematic interplay between Dunedain and Angmar or would that just be a miserable experience? I’m not sure I’d enjoy running like dwarves for Agmar because it’s not thematic. Idk.

Dream Chaser as a theme for questing and archetype don’t really appeal to me. Though the hero box would probably be useful, but it’s OOP anyway.

The Ered stuff seems enjoyable thematically, but it’s not as appealing as the Agmar/Dunedain theme.

Available to me is the Ered and Agmar Hero expansions and all three Campaigns. I had planned to get all available hero expansions for the full card pool and Agmar for after the Saga, but if I have to run like dwarves or something not thematic to beat it, I’m thinking maybe I just get whatever will make the Saga most enjoyable as far as hero expansions and call it.

Just wondering what to prioritize while available given my interests.

Sorry this is long. Overthinking and feeling the pressure of everything being unavailable in the future. Seems to be the theme with LCGs.

Is Age of Apocalypse worth it if I won’t likely have any other X-men stuff to build around the heroes?

Found it for a decent price. Magik is one of my favorite Marvel characters, but I wonder if it’s worth investing in given none of the other available X-men stuff is of interest to me and the rest is out of print.

I started this month and just moved forward from where I am with Fear No Evil, Goblin which I found at retail, and Bucky and Silk.

I know Standard III and Side Kick are in Play for AOA too, but mostly I just enjoy thematic experiences of the game and wonder if without other X-men stuff if it’s worth it.

Edit: I got it. Thanks friends! Hearing rumors that Midnight Suns could come at some point and I think Magic will get a lot of synergy there if it happens. Plus Standard III, Sidekick, Bishop is good and some solid scenarios. Not super interested in most of the rest of the wave outside of maybe Magneto. Sad I missed out on my true favorite X-Men Gambit.
