Happy Feast and Happy Independence Day! 🇮🇳

Today it is a special day for Indian Catholics, as we jointly celebrate the day our Blessed Virgin Mary was assumed into Heaven as well as the day our country India gained independence.

It is a day to admire two profound forms of freedom: India’s earthly freedom from oppressive rule and Our Lady’s spiritual freedom as she entered Heavenly Glory. The former may still not be a reality for many people around the world, but the latter is available for everyone who puts their faith in Him.

Peace be with you all. Amen.
