Hi all it’s my first attempt for PM can you give me any tips and advice where to focus more. I have a full time job so barely get any time to study I’m studying online from Sir Ahmed Shafi. Which topics should I do a lot of practice of and how many years back past papers are enough. Is just studyhub mtq enough?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much

SBR in 2 weeks - Practice Approach

I plan to practice through ACCA Study Hub practice for a week. I feel like practicing this way I would be looking at the time also while doing quality questions (updated), I do not have a recent kit so completely ditching that.

My plan is to first write my answers on my own then check, review the answers and make pointers notes for revision. ACCA study Hub also has section A and Section B category questions for SBR (almost around 2 dozen).

I plan to practice through this way for about a week wherein I would be practicing also while revising the concepts and get better with answers along the way.

Once I am done with this, I plan to do 4 past paper/mocks from practice platform.

Do you think this seems like a good approach?

Let me know if anyone practiced through ACCA Study Hub for SBR and share how effective it was.

preparing for TX in June

I'm studying for TX-UK for June (first attempt) while working full time. I've completed 75% of the lectures, just have CGT left to learn then revise (which I'll be done with before this weekend). So far I have not practiced much except from the practice sums our lecturer has made us do during class which were mostly broken down chapter wise to help us understand concepts, and I haven't practiced full questions relating to income tax, corporate tax, or tax planning at all (the type of questions in section C so i've heard)

Any tips for revision and what sources to use for practicing? I've heard memorising every rule is the way to go....is that true?

(for context, i get about 3-4 hours of studying done monday to friday, 6 hours on saturdays and 8-10 on sundays)

APM- How many points for one mark?

Hello.

Giving my APM paper this June and I’m losing my mind.

How many points should we write for a single mark? Is it one point for one mark??

For a ten mark question, we should give ten constructed, explained points??

Any help appreciated

OBU financial analysis

hi guys!
ive been working on a topic 5 resubmission due next week i wanted to ask how many ratios are enough
i have done one for horizontal analysis which is change in revenue, then in vertical analysis i did 2 for profitability ratios (GPM & ROCE), 1 gearing ratio (D/E), 1 liquidity ratio (Current Ratio), 1 working capital ratio (COC) & 1 Investor ratio (P/E ratio) so far
last attempt i had done one more ratio which is dividend yield under investor ratio but this time im thinking of skipping and going with the 7 above mentioned in order to make sure my ratios aren't descriptive and the 200 or so words ive left for dividend yield can be utilised elsewhere instead of a general discussion which caused me to fail last time

my question is are these 7 ratios enough? will it be considered too less or something? is there a minimum i should go for?

10 Days Left for F6 (TX) ACCA Exam – Need Advice, Notes & Study Tips

Hi everyone,

I have around 10 days left to prepare for my ACCA F6 (TX) exam. My main resources right now are:

  • MHA recorded lectures
  • BPP Textbook

I wanted to ask if anyone has:

  • concise study notes, summaries, or revision kits for TX
  • tips on how to prepare effectively in a short time
  • important topics to focus on
  • advice on exam technique or question practice

I’m planning to study full-time for these 10 days, so any guidance from people who recently passed TX would really help.

Where can I find ACCA (Section C) model answers/workings to learn presentation style? (FR and PM)

Hi everyone,

This is my first attempt at ACCA, and I had a question about exam technique and answer presentation.

From what I understand, Sections A and B are mostly MCQs/objective test questions, so detailed workings usually are not required to be shown. However, for Section C, I believe the workings, layout, and presentation of answers are important and can earn marks.

I wanted to ask where I can find good examples of previous Section C answers or model solutions that show how answers should be properly presented in the actual exam. I’m mainly looking for resources that can help me understand the expected format, structure, and workings.

Any recommendations, resources, or advice would really help.
Thanks!

My ACCA PER supervisor holds an MBA (not CA) and his portal shows IFAC member details incorrectly — can I still claim 2+ years of experience? Need advice!

Hey everyone,

Looking for some guidance from people who've been through the ACCA PER process.

Here's my situation:

  • I've worked under my supervisor for over 2 years
  • He holds an MBA, not a Chartered Accountancy (CA) qualification
  • I need to know if he qualifies as a valid ACCA PER supervisor and whether my 2+ years under him can actually be claimed

On top of that, there's a technical issue when he tried to register as my supervisor on the ACCA portal, it displayed IFAC member details, which is completely wrong since he's not an IFAC member. This is blocking me from recording my PER properly.

I've already raised a case with ACCA, but wanted to hear from anyone who's dealt with similar situations:

  1. Does an MBA holder qualify as a valid PER supervisor?
  2. Has anyone encountered the IFAC member detail bug on the portal? How did you fix it?

Any advice would be genuinely helpful. This is holding up my entire PER submission. Thanks in advance!

Criticizing the CBE Practice Platform

The CBE Practice Platform is excruciatingly painful to use. Resizing a window becomes increasing problematic. They should've spent some time on fixing this platform too. But I'm sure they'd have just ruined it like MyACCA portal.

AFM Exam approach

Guys I will be completing around 70% of the kit in a couple of days ( covering all the topics). But im still not feeling confident in any of the section.

Although as of now im planning to prioritize Investment appraisal and Mergers and Acquisitions cuse I feel they are simpler compared to other topics like Hedging, Treasury and company reconstruction.

Guys who have passed AFM pls share your experience wid me

Rn very dejected tbh

Is the exam completed revolving around the Pre Seen that we receive or are there anything that can be questioned outside the pre seen? Also, what are the things we should focus on once we have receieved the pre seen?
