Has anyone ever seen an episode like this in their dog? (Video attached)

Hi everyone!

I’m hoping someone has experienced something similar with their dog because we’re very worried.

My dog is a 2.5-year-old Golden Retriever, otherwise healthy, with no previous neurological issues.

Today he was playing normally with our new puppy when, all of a sudden, he stopped, arched his back, and his hind legs seemed weak and started trembling. He looked uncomfortable, almost as if he wanted to vomit, but he never actually did. The whole episode lasted a few minutes. Afterwards, he gradually recovered and is now acting completely normal again.

We took him to the vet immediately. The vet watched the video and performed a full physical and neurological examination, which was normal. Blood work was also done, and everything was normal except for an elevated ALT (322 u/L**)** and a very mildly elevated GGT. Blood glucose, kidney values, calcium, CBC, bilirubin, and the rest of the chemistry panel were all within normal limits.

The vet said it doesn’t look like a typical epileptic seizure, mainly because of how the episode looked and how long it lasted. He recommended monitoring him for now, and if it happens again, the next step would likely be an MRI and consultation with a veterinary neurologist.

I’m attaching the video because it’s hard to describe exactly what happened.

Has anyone ever seen anything similar?

- Did your dog ever have a one-time episode like this that never happened again?

-If your dog had similar symptoms, what was the final diagnosis?

I’m not looking for a diagnosis, just wondering if anyone has gone through something similar.

Thank you so much, and if your dog has gone through that I hope it is fine & healthy now🫶🏻
