Why do the female lead's brothers in shoujo manga never find a girlfriend or wife of their own?

It’s always the same: the female lead is the youngest and has two to four brothers; she grows up, dates, gets married, and has kids, while her brothers are just there, hovering around her like eternal virgin eunuchs.
