I have maybe 11,000 in consumer debt that I accumulated paying for essentials and rent after loosing my job, and 2000 of unpaid rent for my last month in my apartment before moving back in with my parents. I just graduated and have been job hunting for a year. I worked part time substitute teaching to make monthly payments but I am still struggling to keep up until I find gainful employment. I fell ashamed and don't know if I should file, especially over such a small amount of money. Will it hinder my ability to get an apartment in a new city? Apologies for the angst.
