My Lithops journey so far

A few days ago, I bought my first Lithops as an adult. Today, I finally got around to repotting them.

I carefully removed all of the organic material they came in and planted them in two different pots, both with drainage holes. For the new substrate, I used roughly 85% pumice and 15% organic material.
I’m also planning to put them under a grow light soon, starting with a relatively low intensity. Then, about once a week, I’ll gradually increase the light intensity to help them acclimate.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time reading through this sub and learning as much as I can, so I’m really hoping these guys will do better than my previous attempt and won’t die on me so quickly.

Do you see any potential problems with what I’ve done so far?

Jemand wollte auf ihn treten

Ist eine Nachtaufnahme daher etwas unscharf. Ein „Freund“ wollte absichtlich auf ihn treten. Er ist das erste männliche Exemplar in freier Wildbahn.

What is this?

Hello community,

I bought a cactus today. According to my internet research, it’s a Mammillaria. Can anyone tell me what these brown, dry-looking or green fleshy things between the spines are?

Thanks in advance!
