Men Sleeping on Shore Road in am

I usually go for a walk in the morning before work, and the amount of men sleeping on shore Road is heartbreaking. I have contacted the local offices and they just tell me to contact 311. This morning I saw two men sleeping on park benches and I contacted 311. And then from the viewpoint of where the men are sleeping, you see the dog park. Nothing against dogs, but we seem to care more about animals running free than ensuring that human beings who are homeless have a safe place. I don’t know why we don’t incentivize the homeless, perhaps giving them $25 to go to a shelter for the day or the night. I’m sure we have the money. it’s kind of like the same thing as providing drug addicts a safe place to do drugs.

Police presence on 3rd Avenue 07/18

Hey lovely neighbors. I just came back from walking down third Avenue from Bay Ridge Avenue to 92nd Street and it seems like every other block this one to two cops. I don’t know why. Just seems odd to me.

Rent Board freezes rent in rent stabilized buildings

So explain to me like I’m five, I understand. The rent board is freezing rent for 1 to 2 years in 1 million rent stabilized buildings. I am fortunate enough to live in a rent stabilized building and I signed for two years. So what’s the difference between me signing a lease for two years, which essentially freezes my rent for two years, and the rent board freezing rent and rent stabilized buildings for two years? Don’t we all freeze our rent when we sign leases?
