Artificial Analysis independent benchmark just found composer 2.5 to be the third best model, beaten only by Opus 4.7 (Max) and GPT 5.5 (xHigh) at 10-60x cheaper

Cursor is a frontier lab now I guess

Summer Sweep-up suggestion: rune pouch degradation revisit

As I close in on 99 rc, I know I will hardly see the benefit to a rework. But still I campaign.

Rune pouch degradation has to be the stupidest mechanic in the entire game. Think about how stupid this pitch for it is:

"while you runecraft, your pouch will just stop working. You're going to need to talk to this wizard over your walkie talkie and he will repair it".

My question is: why?

The only thing this mechanic really serves to do it:

  1. gate rc behind contact-other - which seems pretty silly to me to gate a whole skill behind lunars quest

  2. decrease XP rates marginally by enforcing a disruption

These 2 reasons are NOT GOOD ENOUGH for such a TRASH addition to the rc skill. Here is why I absolutely hate this mechanic and why I hope you hate it as much as I do enough to upvote this post:

  1. It is SO ANNOYING to have to stop training in order to cast a spell and navigate some dialogue pages.

  2. It makes no sense for a skilling loop to enforce walkie-talkying to a rando NPC in the middle of it all the time

  3. it scales HORRIBLY - the better your pouch, the more frequently you have to do it.

I genuinely cannot think of a single downside to completely removing this mechanic from the game. Delete the redwood log GotR lantern and delete the whole concept of degredation and be done with it.

Alternate solutions I hate:

  1. "Make the redwood lantern work everywhere" - stupid af. Why must we make rc suck until you get a GotR drop + 90 fm? Those are such high requirements

  2. "Make it unlockable after X" - I only like this one if it's something you can do at like 50rc with no other requirements
