Registered Professionals by ethnic groups in Malaysia in 1984

For Context, Chinese and indians made up 31% and 8% of the Malaysian population in the year 1984 respectively.

Indian representation in the medical and law field was very impressive, while the Chinese pretty much owned the architecture and accounting professions..

I'm sure today bumis will make up at least 50% of each profession.

To Tamils in Tamil Nadu, I have a question. I’m a Tamil from Malaysia who has been following Tamil Nadu politics for the past few years. Are people in Tamil Nadu really so obsessed with cinema stars that they make them Chief Ministers without any political experience or knowledge? I see on social media that some people say this is to end the duopoly, dynasty rule, corruption, poor law and order, and drug prevalence. But how are you all so confident that TVK will solve all that?

Aren’t many of the TVK members former members of the same corrupt DMK and ADMK parties? Vijay, being inexperienced, would definitely take a few years to learn political governance. So how is he going to solve the law and order issues or the drug problem? How is he going to bring in investments being inexperienced while facing strong opposition from DMK and ADMK later on?

Vijay isn’t known for being a strong decision-maker even in his cinema career, so how do people trust him to govern an entire state? I could understand if Tamil Nadu was performing terribly in terms of economic progress and people wanted urgent political change by choosing TVK. But hasn’t Tamil Nadu become one of the fastest-growing states in India in recent years?

I just cannot comprehend the mindset of people there. We Tamils from other countries would be the first to feel happy if Tamil Nadu progresses and becomes developed. But looking at the trend, I feel that Tamil Nadu would forever remain that 3rd world place with terrible infra and dirty streets. I wish Tamil Nadu would at least be like Kerala.
