Help the Summer Lake Ducks survive the cold.🥶🦆❄️
Hi Tigard neighbors! I live out of state now and can't be there myself, so I am asking for your help to protect our beautiful Summer Lake ducks during this upcoming weekend and winter. When the water freezes, they lose access to their natural food sources and need extra energy to stay warm.
To see why these ducks mean so much to me, please take a quick moment to watch this short video I made about Georgie, a mallard duck who survived against all odds:

Next time you visit the park, please bring along a handful of cracked corn, defrosted frozen peas, uncooked oats, or birdseed to give them a high-calorie boost! There are signs that say please do not feed the ducks, because the park does not want them feeding things like macaroni or bread, as it doesn't give them the winter nutrition they need. You can buy cracked corn at Wilco for 1899 for a 50 lb bag. There will be about 300 ducks there come October 15th. Thank you for being my hands and feet from afar! ❤️
