Puppy meet ups?

Are there others who have a puppy and would like to meet up at a non-dog park for some socialization time?

We have a wonderful 10 week old pup we got from the shelter a couple of weeks ago. He was neutered then, and he is cleared to start playing as much as his heart desires and socializing with other pups! He’s caught up on vaccines now for his age, but can’t go to dog parks yet of course.

He’s been around a lot of children, ages 1.5-18, loooooves people, other dogs, etc.
We just want to get him out (safely) as much as possible!

I’m an RN and my fiancé works from home. We tend to be more available in the evenings unless I’m off that day.

Think I got clipped last night by the Fred Meyer speed light cam

Completely on me, wasn’t paying attention and thought the 35 was a 45 (not from Tigard so I don’t drive there often) and went 50. I know I’m probably gonna get a ticket but any chance I don’t? And if I do what are my options?

“Massage” business on Walnut and 99

There is a “massage” business on Walnut, just off 99 next to the City Center Market that offers open hours of 7:30am to 11:30pm.

How many of us are going there/have gone there for legitimate massages?

Or is it what I think it is?

Vote no on new police measure

I keep getting canvassers coming to my door and see signs everywhere...please don't vote in yet another police tax bill for a new overpriced building. We already pay too much, no homes are really appreciating, have a shit job market and we're supposed to eat another few hundred dollars in property taxes so police can have a 150 million dollar shiny new building they've already picked out a lot for? This is bull

edit: wow i am very glad that i am not alone in this! I have some hope this won’t pass now, i am doing my best encouraging friends to vote

Tigard's Proposed Budget Targets Library for Cuts

After Mayor Hu forbid teenagers from making public comments last week, I started paying a lot closer attention. Tigard City Council decided their current budget priorities include "minimizing impacts to police services" and "adjusting library services."

For fiscal year 2027, Tigard Police will see an increase in their budget. Tigard Public Library will see large cuts. The current proposed library cuts include cutting the library's Social Services Coordinator position entirely, reducing hours for the only Teen Librarian, reducing hours for an Adult Services Librarian, reducing the fund for new books and materials by nearly a third, and more. Because the library is paid out of the general fund, the city keeps leaving levy dollars for the library while reducing the general fund dollars the library used to have. The result is that Tigard Public Library is looking at the smallest budget it's had in years.

These cuts are proposed right now. The deadline for written public comment is today at noon. The deadline to submit virtual public comments during the final meeting is today at noon. The final Budget Committee Meeting is Monday, May 18 at 6pm at City Hall. In theory, walk-up, in-person public comments will be welcome at that May 18 meeting. City Council will vote on June 9.

Considering Moving to Tigard - advice!

Hello! My partner and I are house hunting and recently viewed a home in Tigard at an open house. It is on SW Tiedeman between SW Walnut and SW Tigard, right by Dirksen Park. For people who live in that area, what are some pros and cons?

Looking for Anyone Who Witnessed a Car Accident on May 9

Hi, I’m hoping to find anyone who may have witnessed a car accident I was involved in on Saturday, May 9th, around 3:30 pm at the intersection of SW Walnut St and SW 121st Ave. The crash occurred between a blue Nissan and a red Dodge Avenger. I was driving through on a green light when the other driver began to turn, which led to the collision. They are claiming that I did not have a green light, and I am trying to find anyone who might have seen the incident and could confirm whether I had the green light or if they might have been blinking yellow. I understand this may be a long shot, but I would greatly appreciate it if anyone out there saw something and could share their account. Thank you very much!

I've never seen any mayor shut down a group of young people (or even adults) like that. More than 40% of the City of Tigard's proposed budget cuts will come from the library. The teens organized themselves and were right to be angry.

Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/live/36FtZpuCIEk?t=29m50s

The part where the mayor shuts down the teens is roughly minute 30-34. Adults were allowed to speak before and after. The woman who offered to concede her time so a teen may speak was denied.

My kid is 18 alt/goth They really need a hair cut(down to their butt almost) but they refuse to go to greatclips, superclips etc etc. They really want to find a stylist who is alt/younger and can do a consult and talk about style options. They are born male and at 18 already getting thin receding hair so super nervous about a haircut.

Any suggestions on stylists in the area that take time to help create a new look??

I’m currently looking to see how the market is with finding an apartment with a voucher? I’m disabled on social security and trying to find a place that is known to accept vouchers. Is there any places that don’t have a problem with voucher holders who are also disabled? I ask this because you would be surprised how many people discriminate on disabled people. Thankyou
