Scenic walking trails in Tigard?

Hi guys! Can you recommend your favorite scenic walking trails in Tigard that I could walk for 1–2 hours? I would love somewhere with ponds, streams, creeks, or just really nice scenery. I’m really looking for a place where I can enjoy a long peaceful walk without having to drive to multiple trails.

Childcare Options

Hello all,

I recently(2 weeks ago) relocated here for work and now looking to find childcare for a 5 and 6 year old until school September 9th. Any recommendations? Would rather not pay $2K a month but if that’s the only option then I shall.

I work in Portland.

Giant house spiders

I live in an older house in Garden Home. It’s about to be my second fall in the house, and the first was a doozy with the giant house spiders. I’ve already seen a few smaller ones and vacuumed them up, so I’m bracing myself for an even worse fall given how warm it’s been.

I know they’re harmless, but we’ve had literal mouse sized spiders and I simply cannot handle it. They get too large for our designated spider vacuum. I’ve even heard my husband scream when he’s come across them. They’ve crawled across me in bed, out of toilet paper rolls, into my medicine cabinet, under our rugs, and in the shower curtain. My poor heart cannot take any more jumpscares.

Does anyone have any advice on spider proofing the house before fall? Companies they recommend? Basic tips? Is this typical for the area or is our home just cursed?

Part 2 of the Beaverton/tigard burger week locations

Today we review the rest of the Beaverton/ Tigard locations on the Westside. There are a few other ones here on the Westside out in lake Oswego and tualatin but most of them don’t offer take out and I want to respect the establishments and their rules. All the ones I have reviewed allow take out. So it makes my reviewing a lot easier.

Today I review

@love_eatz_smashburger the volcano burger! 🍔

@wowcowhq 5)3 tteok Korean Philly burger 🤤
Add jays famous truffle basil fries and a drink for just $5. And his fries are always worth it.

@teriyaki.moto shu mai sliders! Get a spam musubi for just $3 during happy hours

Don’t worry I’m not done yet. There are three more in portland that I have to go try just because they look Killer!
@killerburger @ironstrikeburgers and @wolfsheadpdx

There’s only 4 more days left of burger week! And so far eveyrbing has been coming up milhouse! Don’t miss it. So delicious! But remember be patient some of these places can get slammed. So be prepared to wait. Somehow I’ve been blessed to not wait too long but I go at weird hours.

ISO Adventurous LGBT Friendly BFF

Hello! I’m a 32 year old gay man in Beaverton looking for a platonic friend who is adventurous and wants someone to hang with. I enjoy:

Light hiking
Camping (glamping)
Golf (just for fun, not the rules)
Anything pet friendly (I have two chiweens)
Shopping/wandering
Beer/wine tasting (the beer has to be gluten free unfortunately)

I’d love to get into yoga, pickleball, CrossFit, kayaking etc. but am too shy to do alone.

I am married to a man who enjoys tagging along for less physical outings, so double dates are also an option! He loves food, movies, and video games (the latter not being my forte).

Hit me up if you’d think we’d vibe. Thanks!

What Happened at Bonita Park last night?

At about 8:40 I drove by and there was a cop frisking a naked guy up against a car stopped right at the intersection, and then three more cops came tearing down Bonita from Hall, sirens blaring.

It was very exciting but I hope nobody got hurt. What was going on???

In case anyone wanted to know. New pop up food cart in Tigard

Come with me to check out the newest food cart addition to the @hudsonplazatigardor food pod!
El primaso is serving up your favorite Mexicans snacks and foods. They are only open on the weekends right now and only take cash. And by the time I left there was a small gathering of Mexican people forming so you know it’s gotta be good!

I had fun trying to figure everything out as they had two kinds of loaded fries and thank goodness for Google Translate because no one spoke English but we figured it out!

Also for the quantity you can I thought the prices were really good. Especially for that hamburger. Quite large and in charge.

I tried:
•Esquites
•hambuguesa
•papas locas
•hot dog

I’d love to try the chicharrones and empanadas so hopefully another day but they did not have those when I went.

Definitely a small family business worth supporting and plenty of other options available for everyone plus tasty drinks and indoor seating at @tap_and_table

📍12950 SW Pacific Hwy Ste 285 Tigard , OR 97223
Hours: weekend evenings til 10

Empty Joann fabric space

I can only guess the old Joann fabric’s store off of pacific highway will serve as a spirit halloween storefront this fall, but I’m curious if there had been any potential news of any permanent businesses moving in? (Much like how Teso live moved into the beaverton Joann’s location).

The Mystery Business

Would anyone like to do a TTRPG(TableTop RolePlaying Game) that is made to play like a Scooby do episode? It is a separate system from DnD with its own rules. For those that haven’t played DnD you make characters not unlike the ones from the show. Then the game master will describe the scene, you then have control of your own character and what they do. Some situations will require you to role to determine if something is successful. For this game it might be observation, you would roll and have a score to beat. If you succeed I would tell you what’s in the room and mention the rug seems to have an odd indent on it. Checking the rug you find there is a trap door to some room below.

For now the game will done in one sitting rather than an arc over multiple games taking place over multiple days in real life. I am not sure how long it will take but dnd runs for 3-4 hours so I will go with that as a base line. Dnd however also has slow combat where this does not so I expect it to go a bit quicker at the least in pace if not in overall time as it focuses solely on ability checks and roleplay.

I want some time to prep this so I was thinking of putting the day to be Aug 22nd, a Saturday and a couple weeks away. As for time I will say noon up to 4pm but I can adjust the time earlier or later if needed. Plus we can cut it short or you can leave early if needed, I think we can wing the character pretty easily in this system if needed.

This would take place at my house unless people would prefer a neutral location. I know of at least one place down town that could work and I am sure we can find others. I live between Down town Portland and Tigard.

I am M28, my wife will join and she is F24.
