Tigard fireworks… grand finale?

Our family watched “the big fourth” fireworks show, and the finale didn’t seem like it worked. I don’t know why I want to know if there was a malfunction or something, but it was such a random let down of a fireworks show. And then there were like 3 random one offs. What happened?

Wanted to share this Italian bakery stand that opened up in Tigard/Bull mountain aren

Today we go check out a bakery stand in the bull mountain/ Tigard area.

A lovely lady opened this up after hustling and grinding as a pediatric er nurse for years. After the passing of her beloved dog she knew she needed soentning different. So she opened a bakery stand. Making all the things she loved growing up in New York. Her many changes a lot and she makes small batches of things. So be sure to get there early. Be sure to follow her for drops and her address

Here’s everything I picked up:
•Italian rainbow cookie
•peach galette
•coconut tiramisu cookie
•brown butter peanut butter cookie
•Italian bread 🥖

Everything was really good. Authentic. Fresh. If you are looking for a women owned small business to support and you like baked goods. I’d definitely go check her out. She is opened starting Fridays!

Festival of the Balloons

Review so when you search and add “Reddit” as one does you can learn from my mistakes.

TLDR: make sure you check the schedule of events thouroughly! We paid $25 to visit a public park and a loooong walk

Me and my family came by the festival Sunday afternoon, thankfully it was only $5 tickets this year. Parking was $15, the road attendants were not allowing through traffic and later told us they are not allowed to tell people about residential parking because residents are prickly about it (on the website it’s accurate).

The kid zone was included in the ticket, but I didn’t check closely enough on the schedule of events to see that Sunday it was not up. All the balloons were in the morning, no sign of ANY balloon activity. Fair that that’s a morning activity, but I thought there would be…something? Educational booths, photos, a display, idk.

The carnival was up, but we didn’t want to spend ~$7/ride, so we ended up just having a heck of a walk and playing at the playground as many of the other parents came to the same conclusion as us and it was bustling. Cook has a great playground with many ADA options.

I learned my lesson, don’t just look at what the ticket includes, check the schedule! And don’t assume parking shuttle is a courtesy! I’ve had this event on my radar for a few years to visit, and will definitely check the calendar if we ever venture out here again! Don’t be spontaneous like me! Ha

Did I just get a ticket at 99W and Hall Blvd?

Turned right on red, didn’t realize there’s a "No Turn on Red" sign until after… (No flash, though?)
Hey everyone,
I’m completely psyching myself out right now and looking for some insight from anyone who drives through Tigard or knows how these local photo enforcement cameras operate.
Earlier today I was driving on Hwy 99W and turned right onto Hall Boulevard. The light was solid red. I came to what I am 100% positive was a dead, complete stop behind the white line, checked for traffic, and then made my right turn.
Right after I completed the turn, my stomach dropped because I noticed a physical "No Turn on Red" sign posted at the intersection. To make matters worse, I know that specific intersection is heavily photo-enforced with those predatory red-light cameras.
The thing is, I didn't see a single flash or strobe light go off when I made the turn.
Has anyone done this exact same thing at 99W and Hall and actually gotten a ticket in the mail? Does the camera always flash if it catches you making an illegal turn on a red, even during bright daylight hours? I’m low-key sweating this because I know Tigard traffic fines are an absolute nightmare ($265).
Appreciate any insight, experiences, or advice on how long it usually takes for a ticket to arrive if the camera did catch me!
I’ve gotten other violations in this intersection and literally after years of driving my license will be restricted because of these cameras. If anyone has gotten out of these tickets or has any other insight I would love to hear it 🫣thx

URGENT: Atlas Property Management tenants download your portal data IMMEDIATELY (Management Transition)

Hey everyone, making a burner account to post this for anonymity, but it is incredibly urgent for anyone renting a property managed by Atlas.Atlas has officially lost a major portfolio in Portland/Tigard and possibly Washington. All of these properties are currently transitioning over to a new management company. The biggest immediate risk to us is that our online portals will likely be deactivated with zero warning once the final switch happens. If you don't act right now, you will lose access to your entire history.
Log into your portal immediately and download/save:Your full, signed Lease Agreement, Your entire Payment Ledger and all rent receipts, Clear proof of your Security Deposit amount, Screenshots of any open or past maintenance requests.
Legally, the incoming company has to honor your lease and security deposit, but management transitions like this are notoriously messy. If they lose the paperwork or claim you owe money, you will need your own hard copies to protect yourself.
Do not wait for an official notice. Log in, grab your data, and please text or call your neighbors in the building to make sure they do the exact same thing before we get locked out.

Run clubs in SW Portland?

My husband and I live in Garden Home and are struggling to make friends. We’re 29, with no kids. We are both very active and love the outdoors.

We are trying to join a run club to meet people around our age in similar life positions. Is there a running club in southwest Portland? Tigard area would be great. I’ve looked through several Portland area run club lists but almost every is Hillsboro or north Portland. I found one in LO I might check out this Thursday, but it would be great to meet people in our area.

Weekday evening runs would be best because we are usually off hiking on weekends
