Didgeridoo Groove | SoundChilling project

Hey everyone. We took the didge out to the terrace with a full rhythm section: djembe, bass, drum kit. It gets pretty trancey, pretty fast. Curious if anyone else here has experimented with didge in a full rhythm section setup like this, or do you usually keep it more traditional/solo?

Live ambient/drone jam inspired by Paleolithic cave art (Pulsar-23 + Neutron -> Microcosm)

Hey everyone. I recently played an unplugged improv set for a local multimedia exhibition focused on ancient paleolithic cave paintings found around Russia and Eurasia. The brief was to capture the "vibe" of being deep inside a cave looking at 30,000-year-old art, so I went heavy on the subterranean drones and chaotic organic rhythms.

Kept the rig pretty minimal for this one:

SOMA Pulsar-23: Did most of the heavy lifting for the weird, chaotic percussive textures and CV routing.

Behringer Neutron: Handled the paraphonic bass drones and some gritty leads.

Hologram Microcosm: The real MVP here. Ran both synths through it for granular delays and massive reverbs to get that "deep cave" feel.

Honestly, the Pulsar-23 can be a beast to tame live, but letting it run semi-generatively while I tweaked the Neutron filters worked out really well. The Microcosm just glued it all together and made it sound way bigger than two desktop synths.

Link to the full video is in the comments. Would love to hear how you guys handle routing multiple synths into a single Microcosm without it turning into total mud in the low-end!

Hang duo on a sunset

hang duo

Just two hangs, bass, and a drum kit. We took the gear out to the wooden terrace on a warm summer evening and just let it flow. No heavy riffs just a chill groove. The two hangs talking to each other, while the rhythm section keeps it grounded, breezy, and deep. Recorded live, no overdubs. Put it on in the background, drive with it, or just zone out.

Handpan + gusli chill flow

Hey. We're a small acoustic ambient project. Usually we play deep immersion sets — people lie down, we keep it quiet and slow.

This summer we took everything outside for a street jam. Brought a full drum kit and bass guitar, but instead of going loud, we stripped it all down to a slow, breathing pulse. Just grounding, no drive.

Then we layered Hang and Russian Gusli on top. The metallic warmth of the hang mixed with those old gusli strings created something unexpected — felt like touching something ancient while sitting on a wooden terrace at sunset.

Curious - has anyone else tried combining hang with plucked folk instruments like gusli? We're wondering if this pairing works beyond just our own ears, or if we're just falling for the texture

Hang & Nyckelharpa Acoustic Ambient | SoundChilling project

Hey everyone. Just wanted to share a little evening jam we recorded recently. It’s me on the nyckelharpa and my bandmate on the hang . We run an acoustic ambient project, but we've been experimenting with combining different rare acoustic instruments lately.

But here's my actual question, and I'm genuinely asking because I really don't want to be "that guy":

Does anyone feel like putting these two together is just... wrong? I know the nyckelharpa has deep roots in traditional Swedish folk music, and the hang is a modern Swiss invention. They have literally zero historical overlap. Are we doing something unacceptable by mashing them up just because the frequencies happen to blend well?

I really don't want to disrespect the traditional roots of the nyckelharpa or come off as just mixing things up for an "aesthetic" without respecting the history. I'd love to hear your honest thoughts, even if you just think I'm overthinking it.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the video. Cheers.

Chill Surf Rock | SoundChilling project

Usually you catch us setting up yoga mats and playing ambient ethnic sets in retreat centers. Not today.

We took the gear down to the beach for a raw street jam. First time ever bringing the vintage electric guitar out of the shadows. Threw in a full acoustic drum kit, kept our ethnic instruments in the mix, and just let it rip.

Chasing that classic 60s garage psych-surf vibe, but filtered through our ethnic roots and unpolished street drive.

Let us know in the comments if we should keep this loud side-project alive. Turn it up.
