Celeteque Soft Matte Moisturizer with SPF 57

Has anyone tried this yet? Hopefully I didn’t just waste my money on this.

I’ve seen so many choices but I don’t really want to use my supergoop given that it’s quite expensive. I use a lot of it.

I’ve only find saying to say matte, does anyone have any other recommendation?

Skin Type: oily, acne prone
Age/Gender: 34/F
Current Skincare Routine: babe facial wash, cerave Moisturizer and rohan sunscreen only
Main Concern: mattifying sunscreen without white cast
Lifestyle Factors: mostly indoors, sweaty
Budget: Max 700-800php
Additional Info: please share where to buy the product you recommend too. Appreciate it!

SUSHI MARAMI hi

Finally tried it after craving sushi for so long since coming back to the Philippines and I keep seeing it on social media. Honestly… disappointing.

The place looked way smaller than it does on social media and it was packed. We paid ₱799 each. The conveyor belt concept was cool and staff explained the package. Also, contrary to what’s posted online, there’s no time limit.

Biggest issue: most of the sushi on the menu never came out. We patiently waited around 25 minutes for salmon. When it finally arrived, the salmon slices were super thin with huge mushy rice underneath.

The tempura and salads were honestly the best part. My partner said it was okay. We were both hungry preparing for a buffet hahah. If you go, avoid sitting near the door/self-serve area because you mostly get leftovers from the belt.

Random tips:
• Ice cream machine fights back — pull slowly 😂
• Don’t put chocolate inside the waffle maker unless you want burnt waffles. Follow the instruction card.
• Nigiris are extra 150. We wanted to add but seeing how they sliced, NAHHH I don’t think so.

Overall, cool concept but don’t expect all the menu items to actually be available. If you’ve already tried genuinely good sushi before, I honestly wouldn’t recommend going because you’ll probably just end up disappointed.

Asking for reco on where to have TCA CROSS

Skin Type: Acne Prone- Oily Skin
Age/Gender: 34
Current Skincare Routine: Bebé facial gel and Cerave Moisturizer
Main Concern: Ice pick scars
Lifestyle Factors: PCOS, now on low LDL diet. Taking mounjaro
Budget: 2,500-5,000

Additional Info: I have tried this procedure abroad and it has been so effective in fixing my acne scars. I actually regret not starting sooner. I can’t believe that not only aesthetic clinics and dermatologist clinics here are doing very low concentration. They are also pricing it literally 11x more expensive than what I have paid.

I did 70% concentration, it was around 1,900php when converted. Most of what I’ve asked from is they’re doing 10-20%. Consultation fee is FORCED, yes FORCED when such procedure should already include it because of the after care of this treatment. I was quoted 10-12,000php. Whattttt..

If anyone knows where to get this procedure without sacrificing an arm and a leg. Thank youuuuu

Alvarez Park Cafe Valenzuela

I wanted to gate keep this place but it deserves the shout out.

My partner and I visited there on a Friday afternoon. We were mostly alone til early evening when the seats started to get filled.

Vibes and Ambiance are so on point. It’s just beautiful and peaceful. Even the music. There was a wedding when we visited the place. There’s another floating restaurant for that event. There’s also another al fresco dining with a band near the entrance, also beautiful.

We were on a floating boat-ish dining area. I have videos but Idk why I can’t post it here.

Food was on point. Served complimentary focaccia bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

We had mix fried appetizer. Fish and chips. Salmon fillet. Brownie ala mode which I forgot to take a picture of. Prices are mid range. Around 300-500php per item that we ordered. They serve alcohol too. 250 a pop for a bottle of pilsen beer and my red wine.

Cons: When you go out to the balcony. To your right is the toilet and the pipe for the toilet flush directly goes to the pond. There’s no other way that it would be the sink because no one was using the sink when I saw brown yellowish water coming out.

Do not eat the fish that’s been caught there or drink the water there.

Anywho, it’s still perfect for couples for a romantic quiet reset.

Sushi Marami Makati

Good price at 699-799php per person I think. Not too bad but I’m surprised of the 1 hour and 20 minutes dining for this price. Has anyone tried it there yet?

Is it worth to visit?

Guevarra’s by Chef Laudico

I took my mom to Guevarra’s by Chef Laudico for mothers day. I saw it as a recommendation on Yelp then checked it out on Instagram for the vibes and also some google reviews. It was 899 per person for lunch and they have senior discount. 12-2PM.

Apologies for the poorly edited photos. Heheh

Area is good, I like the modern spanish style and vibe of the place. It was still busy today for lunch even on a weekday which was good to see that seems that I have picked a great place.

Saw the menu and it also seemed to have some promising choices for both my foreign partner and mother.

Honestly didn’t try everything but just the ones that struck my interest and the non carb/ filler options on the menu.

I definitely attacked the grill and carving portion of the buffet. Liver sauce was constantly empty and waited quite a bit for the refill but I didn’t bother checking for it again. I continued with the food that I have.

Star choices for me and my family
- roasted beef and lechon (they weren’t stingy)
- kare kare and I mixed it with the bagnet bacon.
- desserts, small portions. Great for trying it out first then having more portions afterwards
- beef kaldereta (my partner loved it and it was his first time)
- pork humba (moms pick)
- bicol express
- carbonara (mom said that it had a smoky taste), my partner had 2 portions
- chocolate rum ball (dessert on a Chinese soup spoon, odd but it works)

Let down:
- laing, I was expecting more for this dish there but it lacked coconut cream and milk. It wasn’t rich. It was a bit liquidy.
- Ice cream had a weird after taste
- fresh lumpia ubod
- calamansi salmon belly. It was just too fishy for me.
- pizza, too doughy bread- good for kids though
- cucumber juice. Tasted 5% cucumber, 50% water and 40% sugar. Toooo sweet and no visible cucumber

Overall, I would come back. Specially for the price and the ambiance. Not too noisy there either. Great for friends and for a family gathering.

Mother’s Day Dinner Recommendations

I’m so lost. Idk where to take my mom tomorrow. I got so busy with work to look for a place to take her. She also doesn’t know where she wants to go. I don’t want to spend a fortune but somewhere worth the buck. Do y’all have any recommendations please?

I have checked booky and eatigo for discounts. It’s going to be me, my bf and my mom that’ll go out so it’s harder to choose where to have dinner wherein both can enjoy their food. I’m more like the foodie between us 3.

Can’t take her for a massage because she has some skin allergy rn. No more buying clothes because she has literally 4 2-door cabinets full of clothes and some she hasn’t even used yet. Can’t do beach or outdoor activities because she’s a senior and it’s soooo dangggg hot here hahaha

Help! 🫣😩😭🥺

Texas Roadhouse

Love this platter but I really didn’t like how grainy the sausages were. My partner liked the orangey one but I didn’t like both. Just used to the smooth sausage texture like hungarian sausages from S&R.

beef ribs and Pork Were good 3.5/5.

Nachos need some work. More meat sauce would balance of the huge chips portion.

Marugame Udon

Mom and I tried 4 dishes in Marugame Udon. Giving it a 3/5. The broth on item 1. Udon on their menu (I honestly forgot the full name but it had Bukkake on it. 🫣)had the similar taste as there tempura sauce. It was just overly sweet for my taste.

  1. On the menu, I tasted old toge after taste.

It was a japanese ramen fast food restaurant but we had kimchi on the rice bowl. Bit add but an ok addition to cut through the meats.

Tempura was the best thing on this picture.
