Homeowners Insurance - Beware of "premium discounts"
When Amica or any insurance company offers you a "discount" for paying in full, that means they are actually charging you a premium finance charge if you don't pay in full. They call it a discount but actually it's the opposite - it's all marketing bs. They offered me an 8% discount for paying my homeowners premium in full. In the real world, that means they would charge me 8% more on my homeowners premium to pay it over 10 months. In my case that was almost $750 - PER YEAR! You've got to cut through the marketing bs and call insurance companies out on this stuff.
