UK resident buying gloves from EU (Germany), import VAT?
Hi
I bought a pair of gloves from the German company and it is being delivered by DHL, I'm under the impression from what I can find the clothing, including gloves, has a 0% VAT code for importing into the UK.
I've had an email from DHL requesting £62 for Import Duty (the item) hasn't as of yet entered the UK.
Should there be a request for Import Duty? The item was over £135 threshold, and clothing seems to have 0% VAT anyhow).
Also how much to DHL add on for a fee? As 20% of the item + shipping is only £37, that is an extra £25 that has been added on.
