74 marks in 9s1

What rank can I expect?

I Want to study Mechanical Engineering. What order should I keep these colleges in after RVCE- MSRIT, BMSCE, DSCE, BIT, BMSRIT, RVITM, any other good college. Want college in Bangalore. A good peer group is absolutely essential.
Priorities/Non-negotiables are-

  • Strong peer group + technical clubs and culture and sports.
  • Research/internship exposure
  • Brand value and long-term opportunities
  • Flexibility/manageable academics for skill building outside college
  • Good mechanical department

Interested in mathematics, so I'll join IIT-M BS Data Science online degree from my second year, start with internships and research work in vacation breaks, etc, and work on skills(CAD, CAE, CFD, FEA) by myself. I'll do MS abroad from Germany after 2-4 years of job in India. So campus placements will not matter as much as peer group and environment do.
Messed up JEE pretty bad so no options from there, and drop is not an option.

How probable is branch sliding into mechanical branch from lower branches after 1st year in colleges like MSRIT, BMSCE? If sliding is very probable, I might consider getting into branches like civil in either msrit or bmsce over mech in lower colleges like bmsit, etc. Someone please guide me.

Also, are Mysore colleges like JSSTU, SJCE, SIT worth it for my situation?

Any alumni/current student please help me list out the college priority order list.

TL;DR: Want to study mechanical, will study maths from IIT-M BS DS and skills by myself, highly prioritize peer group and environment. Masters abroad plans. Want help to sort college priority list.

I wanna study Mechanical Engineering at RVCE but if in case I can't clear the required cutoff, should I take RVCE Civil and opt for branch sliding after 2nd sem or should I take Mech at MSRIT? I will probably get a <10k rank guaranteed.
What are the chances of branch sliding in RVCE especially in lower demand courses like Mechanical?
Any help would be appreciated.
