Hey everyone,

I made a website with information about the Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM) department at RVCE. It has placement statistics, curriculum, faculty details, FAQs, and a lot of other information that I think will be useful for anyone considering the department.

Before asking any questions, please check the FAQ on the website first. I've tried to answer the most common questions there.

If your question isn't answered in the FAQ, feel free to ask me in the comments and I'll do my best to help.

A couple of things though:

• I'll only be answering questions related to the IEM department at RVCE.
• Please don't ask me about B M S C E or any other college since I don't have reliable information about them.
• I also don't know the latest C O M E D K or K C E T cutoffs, so I won't be answering cutoff-related questions.

The goal of this website is to have one place where people can find most of the information they're looking for instead of digging through old Reddit posts. Hopefully it helps future aspirants!

1st sem math 4 credit I got only a c (5.0 points) which is really bad I know, i want to increase that to an O in the fastrack. I think it will boost my 1st sem sgpa quite a bit.Im looking to increase because I want to have the flexibility of applying to some abroad unis too (Japan ge hogtini konichiwa uwu)

I bought an Omen 16 Laptop.

Now I have to buy a phone which will last for 5+ years (I plan this to be my first and last smartphone from dad)

Please give some good recommendations. Help from seniors will go a long way.

(P.S. This will be the first smartphone which I shall have exclusive rights for, earlier had a Nokia Button phone tho i know how to operate a smart phone)

i got some info from people that in the coming years, rvce, rvitm and rvu will all be clubbed into one big institution. and this is done inorder to get autonomous and all. is this true ?? and even if it is what will happen to the placements which is the only thing rvce is known for. will it get diluted or will rv maintain it ?? and btw how is the current placements going on ??

im a 2nd sem student here and honestly i get major fomo looking at the social handles of other cllgs like manipal,bmsce,thapar,the nits and iits and heck even vit (which is supposedly a jail).

just take manipal for ex, they have a huge campus with a large student body, tons of amazing clubs and events that happen frequently, state of the art facilities for all extra curriculars and sports and overall just the vibe in general shows you how contrasting it is in comparison to rvce's dull boring and monotonous life,

sure we have much better placements and whatnot but you get to that only after 4 yrs.

what do yall think abt this? exaggerated or fair?

How's the dress code like in clg

How hard is it to get an O grade in the DMS (4th sem) ?

Some say as long as you have no active backlog most companies don't care, is it true?? Or they hurt you badly??

Hey everyone!

I'm an ECE student who's really interested in Communication Systems (MPSK, digital modems, DSP, SDR) and VLSI (Verilog, FPGA prototyping, digital design).

Lately, I've been confused about how to spend my time in a way that actually helps during placements.

Right now, I have three options:

• 🏭 College industry-based projects (long-term projects on real industry problems with faculty guidance)
• 💼 Summer internships (off-campus/company internships)
• ⚡ Hackathons (intense project-building and prototyping; I wanted to ask seniors and anyone who's already gone through placements:
• If my goal is a core Communication or VLSI/Semiconductor role, which one gives the biggest advantage?
• Do recruiters value a deep industry project more than multiple hackathon projects?
• How important are summer internships compared to college-guided industry projects?
• For RVCE ECE, do external internships get any attendance/credit flexibility, or are industry projects given more importance?
• If you've landed a core role, what did your resume actually look like? (Projects? Internship? Hackathons? Research?)

I am a first year, 2nd Sem student from civil. I will be applying for branch change after semester as I have CGPA of 8.9 and moving to a better branch was my plan since the start. My priority would be EC,ET,EE,ME. I know the branches have a lot of hard work associated but I honestly don't care about that. I had a lot of doubts regarding branch changes like:

1. When does it happen and how long does it take for branch change as one guy who I spoke to said it takes a very long time and disrupts academics.
2. What all changes, I mean like a new email, new USN?, and all that.
3. Do we get to choose the class we want to go in, for the branches that have like 2 or more classes.
4. How hard is it to adjust and are the department people harsh or biased for new students incoming to branch.
5. And also what about the backlogs of 1st year, I mean since the core subjects were different wouldn't you have to clear them and would that backlog affect placement as companies often filter out and not accept people with backlog.
