RVCE ETE seniors: how good are software placements realistically?

For RVCE ETE seniors/alumni — if someone’s goal is mainly software placements, how good is company eligibility + software placement outcome for ETE students realistically? Does ETE become a disadvantage compared to CSE eventually?

Need a reality check about CSE placements, internships, and skills that matter

I’m a 4th sem CSE student trying to understand the actual placement/internship scenario instead of the usual generic advice online.

A few questions for seniors/recent grads:

  1. What are the recent CSE placement trends in our college?

  2. Approx. no. of companies/offers?

  3. Has the market improved or worsened recently?

  4. Realistically, does everyone from CSE get placed on-campus? If not, what separates placed vs unplaced students?

****Coping with academics itself already feels difficult, so how are people simultaneously doing DSA, projects, internships, hackathons, clubs, etc.?

  1. What actually matters for placements and what is overhyped?

  2. How important is an internship after 4th sem? Is it almost mandatory now? How difficult is it for an average student to get one without strong connections/referrals?

  3. What skills are recruiters genuinely expecting now, especially with AI agents in the scene? Does DSA still matter heavily?

  4. Do projects still matter if many are vibe-coded? What makes a project actually stand out?

Most advice online is just:

“Upskill yourself” | “Do Leetcode”| “Build projects”

But nobody explains:

what to prioritize | how deep to go | how to balance academics + prep | what a realistic roadmap looks like for someone starting seriously only in 2nd year.

Current situation:

->No serious DSA prep yet

->A few projects but all are vibe-coded

Feeling stuck on what to prioritize because every domain feels endless. Would appreciate honest, practical advice rather than generic motivation.?

Rvce ece vs pes cse

Can you guys pls tell me in terms of job opportunities/placements which is better in your opinion? Now pls don't say take what you're interested in coz I really need to take whatever is going to give me the best paying job and experience. Is taking ece and learning dsa and programming through electives at rv better as it gives a choice to go core and IT or taking pes cse and focusing on full cse better even if I dont have a choice later just in case the job market for cse isn't as good as it is now?

I just want to know what everyone is thinking rn

Joining this year. What exactly is the hostel/pg situation.

Joining college this year for btech through management quota.

What is the accommodation situation for boys?

Are the hostels any good

What is stanza? Saw the term mentioned everywhere is it like pg?

I’m looking for the best facilities with minimal restrictions, what would be the best options? Fees is not an issue.

Edit: Just views, zero comments yet. Kindly help me out guys.

Edit2: Kindly enlighten your juniors, will hardly take a minute to type. Would be extremely helpful.

When will these subjects end?

2nd sem CSE, am really tired of useless subjects like IDEA LAB, physics, kannada that don't apply directly to my field or ny interest.

Will such stupid subjects persist over other sems as well or is it only for 1st year

rvce iem?

Its one of my primary options, i might get better branches in BMS or msrit , or maybe even mechanical or slightly better in rvce itself, but i am genuinely interested in industrial engineering and the management path in general,
all sites online show decent placement for iem, but i wanted to know if the online stuff is fr or if it's just the fake stats,
would appreciate if a senior could let me know if its any good

RVCE(CSE) vs MIT Manipal(CSE) through NRI quota.

Getting compsci in both, heard placements are good at rvce and overall campus life and exposure is better at manipal. Would love to hear more opinions on this.
