What did I experience from chanting these Matangi mantras?
Hey everyone,
Basically ive been practising daily but low counts of sumukhi mantras. I've been doing this quite regularly, daily for afew months.
Last night I had sudden urge to light a red candle, incense and chant mantras for matangi at midnight Saturday-Sunday cusp. I also had intuition to use ucchista ganapati mantra 3x before my usual routine. I also chanted 108x sumukhi mantra rather than my usual 9.
I experienced something truly spectacular but want to know if this is common or usual experience? I am from the UK and dont have direct conscious connection to anyone who would know about this stuff hence me writing it here.
I'll attach the notes I wrote right after it happened now:
I chanted it 108 times, could actually feel the intense energy vibrating through my body, could close my eyes and focus and it got more intense, noticed the flame was burning black and grey smoke and was quite wildly dancing like the energy I was feeling.
The feeling was like earthquake vibration but pleasant in a way, I got visuals of fire and could sometimes make out images of matangi in my mind, it came to a point around 3/4 through and I felt some anxiety from the intensity of the energy, I heard a tap on the window or something thrown on the window (small and evident but not loud and shocking to where i stopped chanting) near where I was doing this and looked to see nothing there.
I always continued chanting and then heard buzzing near and around my left ear, I again tapped my ear thinking it was an actual fly, but the buzzing turned into a kind of steady stream of vibration hum, it did alarm me and I briefly thought what if something happens to my hearing. But I also know matangi represents sound and it feels like I heard the unmanifest sound, I still never stopped chanting and held my right hand (my left one had the skull mala which I was counting on) in the abhaya mudra and immediately felt calm and safe.
I did get and feel this cool sense of safety as the same mother who is kind and nurturing is the same one who can appear frightening and intense, so I just trusted and held on to the mother imagery, of this energy actually nurturing me even though it was abit intense and sensory expansive which I haven't experienced to that level before. I felt the one Ness, a touch of the non duality in that moment, a intense energy but inside is only bliss. After I finished the sound in my left ear immediately calmed down 90% to the point im no longer anxious and actually found this experience very cool and powerful.
I know the sumukhi kavacham and mool mantra unlock psychic and spiritual faculties relating to sound so I found this interesting.
During the experience I felt as though I was burning and vibrating, then it felt like that energy was behind me and I was being pushed forward or up, again felt abit intense like a roller coaster but I remained calm, opened my eyes afew times while continuing to chant as it was abit intense feeling like my consciousness was rising
Hours later i still hear faint white noise, when I close my eyes it sounds like deep wavy echoey ocean. It's nice, also getting pleaant sweet smells like a deep sweet blood orange, slight bitterness, or sharpness/tang. Its quite distinct, also floral . I close my eyes and see geometric tunnel as if I am going through it. Fractal like and very psychedelic looking.
