Considering Upaya Zen Center Residency Program

Curious to hear about people's experiences practicing/living at Upaya, whether in the residency program or as a short-term stay. Some context... I'm going through a life-transition and my intentions are to deepen my practice, make connections, and take care of feelings of grief, uncertainty, etc. I have been practicing meditation for years, have done multiple vipassana-style retreats, but no experience living long-term at a monastery. I would be new to Zen practice, but I'm open to learning a new approach.

Moreso than the Zen form of practice, I'm specifically interested in folks' experiences staying there. What did the community feel like? Did it feel like a supportive space? Serious? Light-hearted?
