Fai Fares Application

So I am applying for the Fair Fares application, and since I don't file taxes, I am going to use my pay stubs for proof of income. I live with my mom and 2 siblings who are under 18. On the application, it asks if there is anyone in your household, and it gives this. My question is whether I have to list my mom and siblings or not because they don't depend on me, but I depend on my mom.

Also, a separate question: if I file taxes, am I allowed to use my tax return as proof of income when I am claimed as a dependent because the application asks for tax household, and if I did file it would only list me.

Qualifying Child: The child can be your son, daughter, stepchild, eligible foster child, brother, sister, half brother, half sister, stepbrother, stepsister, adopted child or an offspring of any of them. Child must live with you more than half the year, be under age 19, or under age 24 AND a full-time student. You must be providing more than half of the child's financial support.

Qualifying relative: A relative who lives with you all year and is financially dependent on you, or any relative below who is financially dependent on you:

  • Your child, stepchild, foster child, or a descendant of any of them (for example, your grandchild). (A legally adopted child is considered your child.)
  • Your brother, sister, half brother, half sister, stepbrother, or stepsister.
  • Your father, mother, grandparent, or other direct ancestor, but not foster parent.
  • Your stepfather or stepmother.
  • A son or daughter of your brother or sister.
  • A son or daughter of your half brother or half sister.
  • A brother or sister of your father or mother.
  • Your son-in-law, daughter-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law.

In general, include persons in your household related by marriage, birth or adoption who live together. Only include adult children or other adults over the age of 18 who are not in school if they earn less than the annual limit ($4,200 for 2019) and receive more than half of their support from the other household members.

Fair Fares Application Question

If my summer job ended on the 21st of August and I apply on the 24th, would I still have to add that income on the application because the application asks if anyone in the household has any current income? For the suggested documents on the website, it says all pay stubs from the last 30 days, and my pay stubs from that summer job would be from the last 30 days. I also won't receive my last paycheck until September. Do I not list it on the application but upload documents for it in the app?

Also, since I'm listing my siblings and mom as part of my household, would they ask to provide any residency or Identity documents for them? I would also be putting my mom's income on my application, and if she doesn't have pay stubs which would be the next best option to prove her income from the past 30 days? I wouldn't be able to use her tax return, would I? And would I need to prove I'm her dependent?

Also, if I were a dependent who filed taxes, would I still have to show income using pay stubs instead of a tax return?

Fair Fares Application

If I file my own taxes, can I submit my income using my tax return because on my tax return it only shows my total income and just me as a tax household? But I also live with my siblings and mom, and my mom claims me as a dependent. Or do I have to prove my income, and my mom's using pay stubs?

Fair Fares application

So I currently have a part-time job and a summer job right now. When I am filling out the application, is there any way I can indicate it is a summer job, or can I only prove it in the uploading documents section? When I put my mom’s income plus my part-time and summer job, the application gives a monthly income, and that number exceeds the eligibility requirement when I don’t actually make that every month. Would my application automatically get denied because of that?

I also want to confirm I should be clicking Prove Income Another Way because I didn’t file taxes even though my mom did and I am a dependent under her. Should I also still be putting her income with mine in the application, right?

Can I input my mom’s total income under one job title when she has 2 because I want to use her tax return as her proof of income and the tax return also lists one occupation? Is that okay? When I do put her income, it doesn’t let me put yearly, so can I just put monthly even though she doesn’t get paid monthly so I can divide her total income by 12, and is it okay if the number is a little off from the tax return because what if I get a long decimal? I would be using pay stubs to prove my income.

Career Launch Training

For people who have done career launch before, is the training online or in person, and what did you do? If it's online, would I be able to do it while I'm at work, or would I have to call off?

I recently completed Section 1 of the I-9 Form, but I did not see anywhere to upload my
documents, and where do I schedule the required appointment
to complete the rest of the onboarding paperwork?
