Name that one set...

Name that one set you wandered off to and had an unexpected but incredible experience.

This is my second Lost Lands, and I really want to give some other names a chance that might be conflicting with the big names I've seen plenty of times now.

For instance, last year, I dipped out of Wooli for Peekaboo so I could secure a spot for VOYD. I didn't know Peekaboo at all, and I had such a great time it was genuinely one of my favorite sets to dance to.

I'm looking for more experiences like that. I remember thinking, damn everyone is watching Wooli rn, but I didn't care.

I haven't seen anyone make this post that I know of, so I'm going to share my thoughts to see if I'm the only one.

I'd like to start by saying that I am a huge fan of our boy Subby. My dad joined me for FK as a college graduation gift. Of the many artists I was excited to see and show my dad, Subtronics was at the top of the list alongside SVDDEN DEATH, Virtual Riot, Grabbitz, Getter b2b Space Laces, and ATLiens.

ATLiens barely had a set due to technical difficulties, but Subtronics...man did I feel like he was struggling.

My dad had never seen him, and this was going to be my third set of his. Every set prior was everything and more than what I could've hoped for. After seeing his set at Coachella and hearing some new IDs as well as some VIPs, I was ecstatic to hear them in person at FK.

So anyways, Subtronics comes on after the disaster that was ATLiens and well...I was disappointed. My dad and I were rocking out as hard as we could, but dammit he wouldn't let the songs breathe at all. I don't think there was any other set we saw where the artist cut to silence so many times. Like fuck me, I'm here because I love subtronics and want to dance but he was making it really difficult.

I don't know. I had fun, and I don't want to shit post, but it really sucked to walk out of there with my dad feeling like he didn't give us a proper performance. Sure, not every artist can be on their A game every time, but come on. We're giving him another shot at Breakaway Michigan. That's my boy, and I want my dad to experience Subtronics the way I have before.
