What was your favorite channel in Haiti ?

As a kid playing outside with my brother , reading and watching TV were my main forms of entertainment.

My favorite channel used to be Metropole cause they were the only channel to have a sort of program back in the day , I remember them broadcasting old series , shows and movies so everytime I came back from school me and my brothers used to watch things like Foot de Rue , Malcolm in the Middle , Ghost Whisperer , random movies and more ( I forgot a looot of them ).

During school days they usually broadcasted series at least after school was over with and I remember that on the week end they broadcasted movies early in the morning.

Sometimes I wish they kept records of what they broadcasted throughout the years cause this would unlock a whole lot of nostalgia for me but anyways, what was your favorite channel back in Haiti ?

Some people genuinely don't deserve kids :(

I just discovered something horrible about someone , I always knew they hid things but man...

Some stuff they did literally makes me sick , I don't even wanna mention them , speaking about it makes me paranoid cause I already snitched enough and I don't want anybody finding out.

They already had an unplanned kid but the second was literally UNPLANNED, this is me not trying to directly say what happened but it's linked to irresponsibility and also cruelty.

I never knew about it , they always hid things from me , they manipulated and lied to me , but that's not the point.

What they're currently doing with their life is endangering their kids , fucking up their future and traumatizing them from my point of view , the kids should have been left out of it , the kids don't deserve this irresponsible parent anyways😢.

The parent on the other hand doesn't deserve kids AT ALL, looking at them especially the soft one , it makes me so sad cause you're so innocent, I almost cried while explaining what happened cause I imagined an innocent looking face reliving what was told to me.

Everyone around the parent knows that the parent does not deserve them but it feels like the parent is genuinely shameless and doesn't care/doesn't wanna hear it (the immaturity at this age is fucking crazy ,you wouldn't believe it).

It just breaks my heart sometimes I wanna take those kids and go far away to some peaceful place every kids deserve but I know I don't have what it takes to raise kids.

Am I the only one who was not allowed to speak Creole as a kid ?

I grew up in Haiti for 17 years , as a kid , I remember saying words like "mezanmi" or "a la de koze" everytime something surprising happened😂.

One time when I was still really young my mom told my older brother and I that she didn't like us speaking creole cause she thought it was "vulgar"(tf), so eventually I lost the habit , I could still understand (everyone around us including my mother spoke it to us)and honestly I can speak it but unfortunately speaking it isn't sitting right with me , my mom even said once that I spoke it like I was a foreigner (thanks to her) while talking to my grandmother, I didn't think much of it as a kid but man hearing this now would have pissed me off especially coming from her , but atleast my cousin told me it sounds normal and I really appreciated it , cause who would like to sound like a stranger when speaking their very own language , even in my school they didn't encourage people speaking creole, my friends still spoke it and it made me feel like a stranger, I can understand them but everytime I tried speaking it I cringed a little cause it seems so fake when I hear myself speaking it.

I don't know why my mom did this to me , I remember one time , I was at her job and one of her coworker asked me where was she in creole , so I responded in creole like a normal person would, later I told her about it and she asked me if I answered in French🤷‍♂️ , I wasn't a kid anymore so I asked what was her problem with creole and she couldn't even give me a solid answer , I bet it's an inferiority complex and she almost transferred it to me.

It's a beautiful language and every joke becomes funnier everytime it's in creole , makes me sad when I can't comprehend one cause I know it's funny 😂.

Anyways , could anyone give me some tips on how to improve my creole , now I randomly speak it with my relatives(they can't even take me seriously and I don't have a weird accent , at least I hope so , I just always spoke French ) and watch Haitians videos(They're funny asf ofc).

As a Haitan what's an opinion you have about Haitian , Haiti or anything else that you avoid saying out loud ?

It could be something that would be controversial because a Haitian said it or because you know other Haitians won't take it well .

For example "A lot of Haitians are shallow and don't take mental health seriously". That's just an example could be anything else.

Non Haitians in this sub

Am I the only one that hates the fact that there's a lot of Non Haitians that come to kick us while we are already down ?

For some reason every time there's someone who's not haitian here I always find out cause they're spreading hate , like we don't have enough to deal with already 💔
