PES 2013 engine is the pinnacle for optimal gameplay.

Only last week have I came back to take another deep dive into Pes 2013 because come what may, in every poll this iteration will be in the top 3 of 98% of avid football purist.

I have spent the last 5+ years at least editing/modding gameplay on Pes 2017 because that imo came closest to emulating real gameplay, with tweaks of course. I took that game to it's peak in terms of what the engine allows & although an extremely good product, especially in comparison with what's out there in the football gaming world today, it's still a cut above the rest in terms of the total gameplay package. That of course doesn't mean that it isn't incredibly flawed. My biggest issue will always be the AI & the " little bugs of your * COM-CB * randomly forgetting to play the sport " or hardcoded attributes, i.e COM playstyles make players controlled by the CPU incredibly stupid, especially wingers who overdribble and refuse to pass even when your CF is wide open. Those are just two of many examples that limit that engine imo.

Then I reinstalled Pes 2013, vanilla gameplay, blur enabled, no gameplay alterations. I find setting formations an absolute joy & I observe the CPUAI playing wide if you have your formation set to defend in a standard block but in possession set to play a bit wider, as soon as you loose the ball, you can see the Cb's converge onto an attacker to close the gap without any instructs having to be set manually. You see the AI make subs and change formations, all the while moving around the players on the pitch to fit their new formation. Stuff like this may seem small but it shows the level of intelligence and understanding of the game that brings a smile to my face.

I haven't even gotten into the actual gameplay yet, once again the Cpu-Ai is unmatched, even without tweaks, the ceiling of where this game can go is what really intrigues me. Here is where I make my actual gameplay edits/mods, i.e, AI players would hardly ever take long shots, easy fix. The Gk's needed improvement & a few other things that I quite can't remember at this moment. That's the challenge I set for myself because the little gameplay cons that they are-are easily fixable.

The CpuAi however is so good that I now just sit and watch games as if I'm playing FM, they show ACTUAL creativity, unpredictability & pure moments of magic. Players actually run with the ball and take on the opposition, try skill moves almost every time.

All I have to do is try to make it as close to real football that the game engine allows.

I would like to share one of the latest gameplay uploads here for anyone here to watch & give feedback on how it is and what needs to be tweaked. In my estimation, getting the tactics right will also be key for attaining this goal as well.

I hope to meet more experience people here that still love this version in all honesty but I'll take feedback from anyone.

#PSA: I have a laptop that isn't the greatest, so bare with me please. I hope you guys/girls can still enjoy the actual gameplay on display.

Paraguay Vs France referee performance

IK it's the wrong sub but bare with me.

This might be the single worst performance of ANY professional referee I've ever seen in life. Some of the tackles from Paraguay are bordering on UFC levels and not a SINGLE card shown yet. This is shambolic, thoughts??

Something must be said about the commentary on the PSG vs Arsenal UCL Final.

First off, congrats to Paris on becoming the second team in the modern era to retain the UCL trophy.

Now to the real issue, we have all been having to endure the absurd glazing of these absolutely bias commentators toward any English side that plays. Today however it moved up a notch to downright verbal drivel. EVERY call against Arsenal they complained against & by the same token downplayed every incident that did went in their favor. Two major instances, the Saka handball, which I didn't see live, so I'll leave that for you to discuss. However the Mendes incident that they seemingly cried bloody murder for a penalty when you can clearly see the Arsenal forward hook and grab Mendes' arm and then go down. To hear this lot moan for about ten minutes straight, ignoring the clear evidence before them to spew their own narratives was shameless bordering on shambolic levels of " professionalism ".

In conclusion, shout out to Arsenal for playing to their strengths. Made the game really tight and almost pulled it off. That has to be thee single most brutal way to lose ANY final, that loss will sit for a long time with the fans & especially with Gabriel. They all will be gutted because of such a high stake game. I know people will troll them & I'm not a fan of their style either but they did more as this group than most Arsenal teams in about 20 years? Arsenal fans can correct me.

Also for PSG to win that game with almost their second team left standing to even compete for penalties...big, big cajones, well done.

Pes 2017 Gameplay Test. Would love some feedback as an active member.

Rayo Vallecano: First Half: MatchDay #7 of my ML journey Gameplay Test's.

Here we have tactical tweaks, trying to find balance both in and out of possession. So the team doesn't look so disconnected.
Thus far this test was especially pleasing out of possession, gaps filled and good coverage. I could probably improve the wing coverage abit more but overall this was against Rayo, who has in totality better players. So I expected this game to be a banana skin. I think however this tactical setup looks to be the one I will build on.

#PROGRESS!Rayo Vallecano: Second Half: MatchDay #7 of my ML journey Gameplay Test's.

WHAT A SECOND HALF!!
Testing team compactness & solidity in and out of possession.
My boys are fighting an uphill battle, even against abit of scripting.

Guys I have been editing this game to look for realism and usually it's way to fast and the team get's extremely stretched and disconnected. Still a work in progress but thus far I think this looks very positive.

I have never missed an El Clasico in over 30 years, until today.

This is the first time in all of my life as a Madridista that I've been able to make the decision to willingly not watch an actual RMCF game, furthermore the biggest club derby on the planet & as a shock to no one, I am sure that 95% of you real fans at least understand why. I won't go on a long rant here but just for purely my mental health, I can't take anymore of these guys and the drama/chaos that surrounds them every week. I don't think I'll watch another game for the season either, just let it die...No good can come from this. Never has a bunch of players turned my stomach so much that I actually feel embarrassed, heck even Barca friends that I have are not even trolling me like usual when they're on top, at this point some of them even pity us & that's where I have to draw the line. Heck for the first time even in the football game I play, I cannot even bring myself to even use these players... I do not recognized this club & until I see MAJOR changes to indicate that all parties involved will make drastic improvements across the board, I'll just emotionally uninvest.
Whatever happens until then, they that ruined the club and the season deserve it. I just feel for players like Arda, Tibo etc...

It's clear from all the crazy post in here & online that most of people have never kicked a football in their lives and armchair quarterback from playing Fifa/Pes/Fm.

First off, Harry Kane did not flop today, if anyone didn't live up to the billing from the home side today it was Olise, despite starting well & getting Nuno booked, he was completely shut down. However he wasn't the only one, they all were including Kane. Psg today surprised everyone including Kompany. They were playing chess while Bayern were still stuck at checkers...Psg showed everyone today that not only can they be tactically disciplined but they can also defend cohesively up there with the best of em. At one point I looked at the stats and PSG only had 26% possession, yet at no point did it look like they were in any sort of trouble.

Kane was so starved of ANY opportunities that he had to fall back into midfield just to touch the ball. PSG suffocated in their own backyard & they deserve credit. Not all this hate I'm seeing from salty fans. This side is a proper unit that can do whatever is needed to get the job done, including " parking the bus ".

Now for the ref. Yes he did not have a good game. The Nuno handball that everyone is crying about, he/linesman called a handball on Laimer before the play ended in the ball hitting Mendes' hand. I thought that call was dubious at best. The Neves hand ball, it was struck so hard at him & he was already so close to his teammate. We all wanted common sense to prevail in the previous with handball incidents, today I thought they did. Nobody wants to see players being sent off and pk's being given for those plays now do we?

The real conversation imo is Kylian Mbappe, who left PSG two years ago having never winning a final with them & they dominate instantly and consistently at the same time. While RMCF who won it before he arrived, has now gone trophyless also in the same time period.

Phenomenal player imo but he has to look at himself long and hard in the mirror...
Dembele was written off but look at the monster he turned into, taking that PSG side and leading by example.
Finally, Enrique might be the best coach in the world right now, give that man his flowers for this masterclass in guiding PSG into two UCL finals on the trot.
