period for 17 days

hey all!

i started my period may 1st and began taking 50 mg spiro each night starting may 4th. my periods have always been irregular because of how active i am with tennis and cheer, but my flow is usually light and lasts about 4-5 days. in fact, there were some months i just didn’t have one. however, as of today (May 17), I am still very much on my period and things haven’t gotten better. I’m soaking through super tampons in about 1.5 hours and cramping has only gotten worse over the last 2.5 weeks. i have debated going to see a doctor because i’m 99% certain its due to the spiro, but i’m starting to lose energy and feel completely out of it because of how much i’m bleeding. its also been interrupting my day to day life as im constantly bleeding through and having to either go home from school or go to the bathroom every hour. i’m also only 17, and a virgin, so pregnancy complications are off the table here. should i go see a doctor? its honestly starting to concern my family and i.
