Die with more sides- more even probabilities?
Fairly sure the math makes this not work, but I'm wondering if anyone smarter than I can provide some input.
Been playing global 1940 like crazy and I love it. Biggest issue, though, is that the hits on die seem to be very luck dependent.
Would having higher sided die, like using D12 instead of D6, with hits using same probabilities for each unit. Ex- cruiser still hits and defends with 50% chance of both, so hits on 6 or less, misses 7 or higher.
Would this theoretically even out some of the rolls? I do like having some luck in the game, makes it feel more real than just hard defense and attack numbers, but still feels too much currently.
If the math does prevent this, then alternatively, if we got higher D-die, would rebalancing each unit help with this? Such as using a D16 and cruisers hit on 7 or less, and miss 8 or higher.
