Should I purchase a flat in Aparna Sarovar Zicon or not

Me and my wife make a combined monthly take home of 6 lakhs and have 2 kids aged 3 and 1. We have no major liabilities and are planning to buy a 3 BHK in Aparna Sarovar Zicon for 2.2 Cr. I work in IT and wife is in mediz both our jobs are at risk by AI.

We have saved roughly 70 lakhs for buying a flat and getting another 50 lakhs from parents. Should we go ahead and purchase this flat or wait it out till the dust settles on the impact of AI on IT and on real estate.

My concerns are what if there's a big crash and the value of my flat in future goes below 1.5 Cr. Lot of people suggested going for flats in FD or Kokapet but I really like Nallagandla and this society specifically because of the lake and HCU and it's proximity to hospitals and malls and decent connectivity to ORR and Old Mumbai Highway

Hired as a PM, now doing full DS work because of office politics. Anyone dealt with something like this?

Long post, please bear with me.

Joined a big tech company recently as a PM. Full interview process, every round, was standard PM stuff only, product sense, case questions, prioritization. Not a single DS or modeling question. The person who referred me had clearly told me before joining, yes JD has a lot of AI/ML language, but that's just how JDs are written nowadays, actual role is of a PM. He also said his plan was to eventually pull this role into his own team before I joined, since there was a hiring freeze and this was the only way to get me in.

Right before I joined, there was a leadership reshuffle. The person my referrer used to report to, who headed the entire product org, suddenly had to leave. My referrer went from having full say to having very little power overnight, someone fairly senior, and even he got sidelined.

Day I joined, I'm told plans have changed, I won't be reporting to my original point of contact anymore, will report directly to the actual hiring manager, and this is now a complete DS role.

Since then I'm being asked to independently build model evaluations, ranking metrics, similarity scores, the full technical stack, for a recommendations type feature. I know SQL decently, basic Python, that's about it. Never claimed DS depth, was never interviewed for it, didn't sign up for it.

Finally had the conversation with my manager. His reply, and I'm quoting here, "you may take twice the time a DS person would take, but quality expectation will not change because you've been hired as a DS person." So no scope change, no support, just extra time to match someone with actual DS background. Basically agreed there's a mismatch and did nothing about it.

Still fairly new, still settling in, and now this on top.

What should I be doing for now:

  1. Keep deliverables small and honest, no overpromising

  2. Upskill on DS side quietly, on my own time

  3. Give it some time, then look seriously at internal / external transfer

Honestly can't tell if I'm handling this right or just quietly screwing myself over. Anyone dealt with something like this? Should I push back more or just grind through and wait it out?
