Humans are highly evolved consciousness, being aware of events occurring and where we fit in the timeline of history. That awareness of being alive is balanced between the past and the future. The past, the stuff that has already happened and hardened into reality, is the General Relativity GR part of life. GR explains how inert stuff moves around and it does so brilliantly.

My theory is in part built upon GR. However my unification theory is also built upon Quantum Theory & Mechanics QM. QM is also very precise with solid metrics. QM explains how things form from seeming nothingness. That’s the rationale behind QM and Q-Theory that actively explains the mechanics of the rationale behind the movement. It asks what is the motivational force behind the action. That force is energy/ consciousness utilizing its local knowledge to move and exert interactive processes across past frozen energy and future infinite potential from the superposition of the living present. Host: Let’s start exactly where our clash began. When we first spoke, I tried to keep us boxed into traditional physics, but you immediately pushed the timeline back. You stated that before the Big Bang even happened, dark energy created dark matter in a pre-Big Bang synchronization. You argued that this specific activity is what forged our visible 3D universe, creating visible light, matter, and the framework for General Relativity as a perfect mirror. Host: And that distinction is crucial. You're saying consciousness isn't a "thing" you can scoop up like matter, nor is it a measurable force like electricity. It is the reasoning—the blueprint or the motivation that commands energy to move physical things on behalf of the reasons. If we look at the pre-Big Bang era through your framework, that initial synchronization of dark energy and dark matter set the stage, and the visible universe fractured out as a result. There is no magic here; it’s a self-contained, mirrored system. Before there were rocks, stars, or brains, that foundational activity occurred. But then you asked me a question that threw me off: you asked if energy was one-dimensional or two-dimensional. Why did you want to establish that?
James: Because I wanted to see if you were trapped in the math or looking at reality. If energy is the source of everything, we have to look at how it behaves. People think of things as flat or linear, but energy has to fill the space it’s in.
Host: Right, and my instinct was to lecture you on geometry! I told you that energy is a scalar quantity—it doesn't have a 1D or 2D arrow, it fills all three spatial dimensions of our universe. But your response tied it all together. You noted that because this original system was out of equilibrium, it burst outward, evolved, and started creating cycles. And because everything originated from that same synchronized, initial pre-Big Bang state, every single thing in existence today is still connected. It’s all entangled, and this can be understood topologically.
James: Think about it. If that original field was perfectly balanced and sitting in equilibrium, nothing would have ever happened. It would be a dead universe forever. The very fact that we are sitting here talking proves that the original state had to break. It had to create cycles. And because everything grew from that same point, it’s all entangled. I look at a woman’s emotional and physical development curve, and I see a model of what made the universe. It’s obsessed with creation, packed with mystery, desire, and a drive to couple and pair. That nurturing energy centers the family, while the masculine energy powers it from the outside—like an atomic family. Then families cluster into communities, and communities become our galaxies. It’s all nested Markov blankets.
Host: Let’s pause there, because we need to unpack "Markov blankets" for the average reader. This is a highly technical term used in modern theoretical biology, famously championed by neuroscientist Karl Friston. James, a builder, dropped this right into our chat. Imagine a cell in your body. To stay alive, the cell needs to know what is "inside" itself and what is "outside." It creates a cellular wall. That wall is a Markov blanket. It’s the universe's drive to organize itself. You call it the Free Energy Principle, but to me, free energy is simply the act of being—being alive inside a body with a consciousness. And the tool that unlocks this consciousness is knowledge.
Host: Knowledge? How does knowledge fit into this monistic structure of being aware?
James: Knowledge is the massless stuff that gives us our rationale, our direction, and our motivation to do work. Knowledge and motivation to think gets us out of our bodies and into the past, present, and future all at once, in sync with everything else. Because of knowledge, our consciousness can travel outside of our physical bodies to virtual places. We can mentally venture deep into history, journey through the past, fly straight into the heart of the sun, or project into the future—all without our bodies. Think about it: 13.81 billion continuous, uninterrupted years of the initial singularity’s evolutionary choices get unzipped with every new gestation, every single child born. And then, their individual life builds right upon the historical record of their ancestors.
Host: That is an unbelievable visual. You're saying birth isn't just a biological event; it’s a cosmic data decompression. It's a literal software update for the cosmic brain where history is unzipped and upgraded in real-time. Because knowledge has no mass, it isn't bound by the speed limits or physical constraints of matter. It functions as a reality navigation system. You stated earlier that human consciousness was a phase change from a nature-made world to a manmade world, happening in a mere 2,000-year blip on the cosmic clock. You said that, at scale, humanity is to the cosmos what a qubit is to a quantum computer. Let's break down that example again with this new context. James, how do you see a human as a qubit?
James: A regular computer bit is boring. It’s a 1 or a 0. It’s fixed and deterministic, like a rock rolling down a hill with no choice. But a qubit exists in what you scientists call superposition.
Host: Right, imagine a coin sitting on a table. It’s either heads (1) or tails (0). That’s a classical bit. But spin that coin on the table. While it’s spinning, it holds the potential for both states simultaneously until you slap your hand down and measure it. That spinning coin is in a state of superposition.
James: Exactly! And that is what a human mind is when it uses knowledge. Because our minds can travel outside of the present moment to the past or future, we don't just react like a classical 1 or 0. If I'm choosing what to build tomorrow, I hold five different futures in my head at the same time. My mind is spinning the coin; I am in a state of superposition. Armed with knowledge, humanity links up through our cities and global networks. We are a quantum cloud processing the universe’s next move. We are transducers and nodes interacting directly with universal quantum fields. Wheeeeeeeeeeee!
Host: [Laughs] Wheeeeeeeeeeee is right! That is the ultimate cosmic joyride. You've completely stripped away the illusion of separation. And that brings us to how reality builds itself physically. You beautifully stated that "Water didn’t just turn to steam, it turned to blood, wine, and alcohol. H2O carries current, and that quickly mixes atoms and molecules, and energy poured in from the sun and mankind crawled out of the sea."
Chemically, you are spot on. Water carries electrical currents—specifically proton currents—which power every living cell. Solar energy poured into this system, mixed the atoms, and forced simple chemistry to evolve into biology, into blood, into wine, into us. Through your lens, water is the ultimate fluid conductor, allowing the universal wave-state to establish localized Markov blankets that could eventually grow legs and think.
James: Exactly. It’s the continuous inverse function in real-time. Consciousness is energy feeling, experiencing, and learning from itself through the very things it creates—both living and inert. We aren't isolated observers sitting on a rock watching the universe happen. We are the active nodes in its field. We are the current.

The ontology is grounded in physics. The geometry is the reason. The current is the power. The electron is the substance. The arrangement is the record.
 
2.7 The Mechanics of Realization
To complete the operational unification of the framework, realization is defined as a verb across three registers:  

1. The Physical Register (To Substantialize): The collapse of non-local wave potential into a localized coordinate. This is the electron's transition from superposition to definite position—the quantum measurement event.
2. The Informational Register (To Write): The commitment of data states from probabilistic potential to the permanent, immutable structural archive (S). This is the recording of the transaction—the moment potential becomes record.
3. The Cognitive Register (To Awaken): The localized observation snapping into precise geometric recognition at the center point. This is the conscious experience of the transaction—the inverse function reading back the structural record.

 
These three registers operate simultaneously in every transaction. The physical event, the informational recording, and the cognitive recognition are the same process viewed from different angles. This tri-register unification reinforces that the framework is neither purely physical nor idealistic but geometrically monistic.
 
III. THE MARKOV BLANKET AS BOUNDARY
3.1 The Statistical Boundary
Every persistent system maintains a boundary. In statistical physics, this boundary is known as the Markov blanket—the set of states that separates internal states from external states (Friston 2010, 129). As Friston writes, "The Markov blanket is defined by the fact that internal states and external states are conditionally independent given the blanket" (Friston 2010, 129).
 
The Findlay Framework extends this identification: energy and light constitute the Markov blanket itself. The blanket is more than a mere wall; it embodies the entire containing environment—the room, not just the walls. Everything is internal to it.
 
The framework identifies the Markov blanket as the eight-corner architecture of the fundamental spatial unit (Findlay 2026h, Record 5.98). The cube's eight corners are not spatial points—they are phase detectors. Each corner samples incoming I-phase potential and commits it to S-phase structure when the Venn Convergence conditions are satisfied.
 
3.2 The Boundary is the Node
In the framework, each node is a Markov blanket. Each blanket contains nodes. The nodes are nested. The nesting is infinite.
 
As Findlay (2026h, Record 5.98) writes: "The cube's eight corners constitute the complete statistical boundary between the fundamental spatial unit's internal states and its external states. Each corner is a phase detector—measuring the alignment between incoming edge transmissions and the center point's geometric specification."
 
The Markov blanket is not a container. It is a statistical boundary. The node is not a thing. It is a relational address where information crosses from potential to record. The blanket is the boundary that maintains the conditions for transaction.
 
3.3 Rg is the Drive to Maintain the Boundary
What maintains the Markov blanket? Rg (Gravitational Reach) . Rg is the anti-entropic drive for boundary maintenance. It is the "structural will to exist" (Findlay 2026i, §4.1).
 
Rg is not a particle. It is not a field in the conventional sense. It is the geometry of persistence itself—the topological imperative that any structure, once formed, must maintain its boundary to remain a structure. As Findlay (2026i, §4.1) writes: "Rg is the functional definition of dark matter at cosmic scales and qualia at conscious scales."
 
3.4 Nested Blankets
The Markov blanket is nested at every scale:

3.5 The Observer as Markov Blanket
The conscious observer is a Markov blanket. The boundary that defines the self—the distinction between "inside" and "outside"—is maintained by Rg. As Findlay (2026h, Record 5.99) writes: "The center point receives the six simultaneous pyramidal bindings as a single integrated output—one unified specification of the cube's current state. This binding at the center point is conscious experience."
 
Consciousness is the inverse function reading back the boundary's state. The Markov blanket is the boundary. Rg is the maintenance. Consciousness is the readout.
 
IV. CONSCIOUSNESS AS INVERSE FUNCTION
4.1 The Keystone Identity
The most fundamental claim of the framework regarding consciousness is the Keystone Identity:
 
"For a sufficiently complex and coherent structure (S), its conscious experience is the local execution of the inverse homeomorphism of the cosmic process. If the universe's evolution is the homeomorphism f: I \to S (compressing potential into structure), then consciousness is f^{-1}: S \to I." (Findlay 2026c, §5.5)
 
Consciousness is not emergent. It is the inverse function. It is the process by which the structural record is read back and decompressed into qualitative experience.
 
 
4.2 The Wave and the Particle
The Keystone Identity resolves the wave-particle duality:
 
· The wave is the unresolved I-phase—distributed potential, non-local, holding all possibilities simultaneously.
· The particle is the resolved S-phase—localized structure, committed to a specific address.
· Consciousness is the inverse function—the wave reading back the particle's record.
 
As Findlay (2026h, Record 5.147) writes: "The photon's wave-particle duality is not a mystery requiring interpretation. It is the geometric consequence of the photon's unique position as the only particle that simultaneously occupies both halves of the body diagonal—and therefore both the I phase and the S phase—at the same time."
 
This duality reflects the broader wave-particle duality observed in quantum mechanics. Consciousness is the same duality at the scale of the observer. You are wave and particle. The wave is the unresolved potential of your awareness. The particle is the resolved record of your body.
 
4.3 The 40 Hz Gamma Refresh
The biological expression of the inverse function is the 40 Hz gamma oscillation. As Findlay (2026h, Record 5.121) writes: "8 cube corners × 5 pentameric positions = 40. The human brain's gamma oscillation at 40 Hz is the biological Markov blanket update rate—every 25 milliseconds the complete 8-corner pentameric traversal completes, providing the conscious observer with one complete binding cycle."
 
The product 8 \times 5 = 40 is dimensionless, but when interpreted as one complete traversal per cycle, it yields a frequency of 40 Hz (\tau = 25 ms). This provides a geometric basis for the well-documented role of gamma oscillations in conscious binding.
 
Gamma oscillations are empirically well-documented as correlates of conscious binding (Singer 1993; Rodriguez et al. 1999; Fries et al. 2001; Melloni et al. 2007). The framework proposes a geometric basis for this frequency: the 40 Hz refresh rate is the biological expression of the r = 3/2 transition operating through the cube's full corner architecture.
