Just bought it, will be here in 2 days. Can’t wait to let you know all about it. Second Shield X, meaning no new holster and no mags needed. Plus if one goes down, I have parts. This is probably my life carry gun now, it shoots so well.

The Shield X is a Davidson’s PVD Blue edition not just a regular base model.
I have a Shield X and love it. So another is a natural fit in my setup. The VP9cc is so tempting though, but means a new system. Build quality cannot be denied though.

🎉UPDATE: I pulled the trigger on the blue shield. Got an INSANE price of $659 OTD on it.
Obviously not the suppressor just the gun. I was eyeing the VP9cc but this would be more worth the money to me.

I went to the gun range fully intending to buy a VP9cc. They had the optic version but they were willing to let me sell the vortex back to them for a good price. (I don’t need an optic)
I hadn’t shot my Shield X yet. Just been busy working 80+, which is why I was gonna buy a gun. After putting 150 through it, I went to the counter and told them just to let me know when they had a non optic.
Damn guys, I’d been fiending for the VP. The shield just shot so damn well. When I stage the trigger it’s nothing but net at 25.
I really have no desire for the VP now. It’s beautiful but I doubt I’d have the same accuracy I just achieved. Maybe when they come down to like 699 or lower when the hype dies down. Smith has been releasing a lot of new colors and configs of the X so I’m thinking a second one before that even.
If you’re like me and caught the hype train just go shoot your Shield X. lol

Bought the Shield X a month before this came out.
I love the gun, to me it’s perfect. That said, I have no illusions that HK is top shelf in comparison. I’ve owned the P30, and USPc. I still own the P2000.
I’m getting another. The smart decision would be to double up and get another Shield X, there’s a few variants I’d like. Not to mention having mag compatibility is a plus. I’m fairly committed to this platform. It also has a safety which is important for my concerns.
Psst but damn if the VP isn’t sweet. The build quality is without a question superior in every way to the entire micro9 market. It’s the best handgun they’ve put out in a while even compared to its big brother, they made it like the legacy guns.
That said: no safety, will require buying more expensive mags, and as my wife says “we have VP9cc at home” lol

I’m committed to this platform despite foaming at the mouth for that VP9cc. I’ve elected to get a second as a backup.
Wish they had a black/stainless. Leaning toward the orchid for this reason. But what would you get? Leaning away from the comp bc not into a louder gun.

Everyone making noise about the price, initially we are gonna see $899. But we can expect these or better after the hype dies.
(Obviously this one is sold out but I think we can reasonably expect this.)
So basically if the CC9 price is swaying you, you should wait. You may be sorry when you see them going for $699 in just a short month or two.
I’m holding off at least for a minute. In the meantime, a second Shield X is in my future…
