How should I explain to my niece and nephew that I’m trans?
For context, I’ve been taking T for about 2.5 years and have had top surgery for 1.5 years; I would say I pass about 70% of the time and my niece and nephew are 10 and 11.
My nephew has started to notice my facial hair and my flat chest but nonetheless still said he loves me and often pairs it with a hug.
My conundrum is, we’re all going to a water park soon and I don’t exactly know if/how I should have this convo with them? Naturally I asked my mom what I should do and she said to just put a shirt on, but truthfully, I’m not sure if I want to. I worked really hard to get where I’m at and for some reason it just doesn’t feel fair? Idk…are they too young for a convo like this? Should I just continue to hide this side of me to avoid questions they may have? I’m really unsure rn so any opinions are welcomed and many thanks.
