Just sent in my PM2 for warranty, did I just make a huge mistake?

Sent the knife back to Spyderco to fix severe lock stick I’ve had for over a year. I didn’t think of this in the moment but what are the chances CBSA seizes my knife on its way back?

Edit: contacted Spyderco asking they if they could either send the knife with the handle and blade separated - got told no as it was a liability and safety issue for them. Asked if they could send it with the pivot tightened down - they said only if it was requested on the initial warranty form and unfortunately I didn’t think to include that before sending it in.

Now it’s just a real gamble if they’ll steal my $300 knife or not.

Does lock stick qualify for warranty?

I’ve had a PM2 with severe lock stick for around a year. My issue is that it takes so much force to close that it hurts after doing it a couple times. Clearly this is a manufacturing defect as it did not break in and is still there. Should I try to send it out or will that probably be a waste of time and money?
