DreamHost Is Holding My Domains Hostage Over a Google Workspace Invoices

I’m honestly disappointed with DreamHost right now.

My domains are expiring, but DreamHost is refusing to let me renew them unless I first pay old invoices related to Google Workspace.. a service I only tested briefly and couldn’t even find a proper option to cancel.

Now the account is suspended over a US$30 balance, and they’re effectively holding my domains hostage until I pay for a service I no longer use.

I understand companies need payment policies, but blocking domain renewals over unrelated Workspace invoices feels extremely unfair, especially when domains are time-sensitive assets that can easily be lost.

Support basically told me:

  1. Pay the Workspace balance first
  2. Then I can access domain renewals

This experience has been frustrating and stressful. Has anyone else faced this with DreamHost? Any advice on recovering domains or transferring them out while suspended?

Hey everyone,

I applied for an Apple Enterprise Developer Account about 3 weeks ago and it’s still stuck in “pending” with no updates. I’ve also raised multiple Apple Developer Support tickets but haven’t received any response so far.

Has anyone here gone through this recently?

How long did it actually take for your enterprise account to get approved?

I’ve seen mixed info online, some say a few days, others say weeks or even months. Just trying to understand if this delay is normal or if there’s something I should do to push it forward.

Appreciate any experiences or advice.

Extremely frustrating experience with DreamHost. I signed up for Google Workspace through them, used it for less than a week, and then things went downhill fast.

They make it incredibly difficult almost impossible to cancel the service. There’s no clear or fair way to stop it once it’s active. Instead of just suspending that specific service, they went ahead and suspended my entire account.

That meant I lost access to my domains, which is completely unacceptable. Domains are critical assets, and locking users out over a Workspace issue is highly unprofessional.

It honestly feels like you're being trapped into paying for a service you don’t even want. Poor billing practices, lack of control for users, and no proper support when things go wrong.

I would strongly caution anyone considering DreamHost especially if you plan to use add-on services like Google Workspace.
