Making an outdoor enclosure for my 1 year old Sulcata
hey I’m making an outdoor enclosure for my 1 year old Sulcata and in my house we have this part where light comes in and it’s 5’10 by 6’5 which I thought was perfect since i was already planning on upgrading to a 4x2x2 enclosure and while doing the math it was almost the same price. Anyways we live in Miami Florida, the area (in pic) gets a bunch of sun most of the day (8 hours roughly) and the humidity levels in there are really high (would have to check how much exactly )
So basically what I’m looking for is mostly advice like I should wait till Dally is bigger or older (currently 4 1/2 inches)or smt I’m missing while planning the new enclosure. Also I was wondering if there’s a mixture of play sand and soil that doesn’t make mud? i was thinking maybe 70% top soil and 30% play sand or 40% coco coir 40% top soil and 20% play sand (my moms main concern is the mud lol)
my plan so far is to add mesh on top and on the drain so no birds, raccoons, or cats can go in (there are none in my area but for precaution). I’m planning on building the hide myself, adding a mini shallow pool on a corner and adding different types of texture like grass (probably dandelion), coco coir, and rocks.
Any advice is welcomed and thanks in advance :)
