What will live happily in a 40 gallon?

I have an extra 40 gallon (long). Trying to decide if it's worth hanging onto or better to sell it. What can thrive in an enclosure this size?

Advice for chuckwalla background?

I am researching chuckwallas and thinking about enclosure components. I haven't kept an arid species before, especially ones who need such intense heating. I have a few years before I'll be ready to buy anything, so I'm getting a head start on details.

What materials do folks use/recommend to make a custom background for chuckwallas? I'm hoping to get a 4ft tall enclosure and would like to do ledges and such to mimic their native rock faces. I want it to be sturdy enough and stable in their heat requirements, but also tolerate if they jump or try to dig up there a little.

Temperature help!

I am having issues with the temperature on the hot side of my enclosure. I have a 25 gallon enclosure for a baby/juvenile corn snake. I have the zoo-med repetitemp digital thermostat with the probe (circled in red in all pictures) on the glass panel of the warm end of the enclosure. The basking spot / warm hide that sits under a 75 watt Arcadia basking bulb is reading 100+ degrees surface temperature (shown in picture 3) but the warm end’s ambient temperature, as per the thermostat probe, is sitting at around the recommended 83-84 degrees (shown in picture 2). How can I bring down the surface temperature of the basking spot to the recommended 90 degrees without lowering ambient temp of 84 degrees on the warm end of the enclosure. I tried a smaller bulb, however when I plug in a 50 watt halogen basking bulb the ambient temperature of the warm end, as per the thermostat probe, struggles to stay above 82 degrees while the surface temperature of the basking spot is at about 97 degrees. The corn snake is not yet in the enclosure, I’m waiting to set up the enclosure correctly before picking him up from the reptile store.

How can I properly support the structure of all the lower terrariums and cabinets to make them safe, I want to make this design where I can stack terrariums in this formation and easily take it down for moving purposes

Ideas to heighten lip of enclosure?

This is my leopard gecko’s, Cheese Bread, enclosure and I’m really wanting to turn it into a bioactive set up but the lip is only about an inch tall which is not tall enough. Does anyone have any ideas for making it taller? I was thinking maybe siliconing something to the inside of the door but I wouldn’t know what.
