I read the email Zofia(the owner of imago) sent out after the missunderstandings and backlash(according to her, i'm not in the butterflies community so i haven't really seen it), i struggle with reading long texts so while i tried to read it i admit i mostly just skimmed it.
i've heard many things like them moving to the USA, which i can get people being scared of but ngl it doesn't matter much to me at least cause no where in the world is safe from the US data collection atp(most if not all of us use at least one service that the US collect data from like gmail/google for example)
What i worry most about in my case is the price increase cause I am not in the position to spend a lot of money as i'm on disability benefits(aktivitetsersättning) and i just got my first perscription from imago and i now worry that i won't be able to afford it before i reach the transition goals i want and need.
I also know others who have been planning on using imago to transition, and the payments pile up, it isn't just the monthly subscription and the initial first welcome payment, it's also the blood tests, travel prices for those who have to pick up hormones in other countries and the cost of the hormones as well.
does anyone know how much the price increase is going to be? i and many others have to budget a lot to afford their treatment already and have to take the price increase into account.
to clarify about my stance on the USA move, ofc i'm scared of data collection but i'm not more scared than i was before because it already happens everywhere(meta such as facebook and instagram are doing it too), the world is getting increasingly hostile against trans people and most if not all of us are aware of that, navigating it is hard, you can't avoid it but you can hinder it to some extent, but you can never avoid it completely in this digital world unless you completely just leave everything digital. the world is going to shit and it's hard to navigate for everyone in minority groups and for the companies and such that help minority groups(like imago for example)
In the email, Zofia said that they have a Plan B and a Plan C to keep us who use the imago services as safe as possible, they are doing their best and In my opinion we shouldn't flame them for trying to keep the company running for the sake of us after Malta screwed them over.
