Auslanderbehorde termin cancelled and told to re apply in January

Hi, all.

I had an upcoming appointment at the Immigration office in Frankfurt for next week. I just got an email saying it has been cancelled, followed by this reasoning below. For context I am a non EU-national, married to an EU citizen, excercising our free movement right in the EU. Entered Germany visa free in June, and submitted my application form about a month ago to obtain my Aufenthaltstitel by spouse of a EU national. My spouse is registered as a job-seeker WITHOUT receiving any unemployment benefits, we both have health insurance, registered address in Frankfurt, and we showed a healthy amount of funds to sustain ourselves.

  1. Why did we get this message we if complied with every requirement?
  2. That last message seems incomplete, any experience what it could be?
  3. What can we do to crunch that timeline down?
  4. What are they expecting to see, and why a generic message mentioning January as a date?
  5. My 90 days as a tourist, as I understand it, don't count anymore since I submitted my application before the 90 days in the country were up. So what is my current legal status to stay in Germany?
  6. Whom should I contact for further help? The Immigration hotline (69 212 42485), any immigration lawyers / services you can recommend?

Anyone with a similar experience please share. Anything helps.

Vielen Dank!

Ausländerbehörde and travelling with the Fiktionsbescheinigung

First post here. Hello!

I have an appointment coming up this month (appointment date was given quickly, 1 month).

I am eligible to receive the Fiktionsbescheinigung that allows me to travel in and out of Germany. When filling out the online form there wasn't any box to request it. I plan to travel within the Schengen area in early Sept after my 90 / 180 days are up, so I would like to travel without worrying about paperwork.

Do you know if? :

  1. Do I ask for it and receive it during the appointment itself? If not, when?
  2. Should/can I request it beforehand via email, phone. If so what's the contact email/phone?
  3. Their FAQ do mention other countries generally accept the Fiktionsbescheinigung, but to confirm first. Anyone here that has recently traveled with that + your passport?
  4. It's recommended I bring a German speaking friend to the appointment, right?

Thank you!

EDIT: how long for the actual Aufenthaltskarte to arrive?
