Torn between a Canon Rp & Canon r50v
hi I'm upgrading my trusty rebel x5.. I'm torn between:
- Canon rp (pro: mirrorless, full frame, can use old lenses with an adapter con: slow, 1080p video not great, battery life)
- Canon r50v (pro: mirrorless, compact, faster, can use old lenses with an adapter, way better video cons: aps-c sensor?
Budget: £600 Country: UK
Condition: Used
Type of Camera: Canon RP or Canon r50v?
Intended use: Photography & video - often in low light, gigs - small-ish spaces
End use: Fun, social media, maybe some marketing material
If photography: what style: General, portraits, live gigs
If video what style: Live gigs/rehearsals
What features do you absolutely need: Hot shoe, low good in low light, decent stills and video
What features would be nice to have:
Portability: Small to medium size
Cameras you're considering: Canon RP and Canon r50v
Cameras you already have: What do you like or dislike about them? My Rebel x5 is slow, battery life isn't great, poor video
Notes: Would a Canon r50v with a 14-30mm wide lens (and an adapter for other lenses) cover most of the bases?
It'll be for general use, but occasionally I need to shoot and film at live gigs - so although the r50v takes way better video, I'm concerned I'll struggle to get wider shots with the crop sensor? I'd like to stay in the canon eco system. Help!
