My theory is an Ain Rao of the Adepts of OA.

This little piece of the Face of Steel's code is absolutely* fascinating to me. Just one line, but it tells us so much. Apparently the death of Sin Es Tro and the subsequent defeat of the Blackstars has interrupted some kind of "Resource Cycle" the Face of Steel is running. Wtf does that mean?! So the purpose of the Blackstars isn't just to enforce the Zero/Zero protocol, or the Law of Qard, but to gather some kind of resources for the Face of Steel!

My theory is that the Face of Steel's purpose is to use the overall emotions of a universe as a kind of energy. Basically using the Blackstars to farm the Absolute Universe for things like fear, submission, will, all that good stuff. Whether or not it's then directly feeding those emotions to Darkseid to keep him powered up, or operating on its own agenda, idk.

Everybody's meming about how Cheetah's going to be Diana's greatest enemy yet and completely reshape the book, but I don't think that's what's going to happen. At least, not right away. Everything Urzkartaga says indicates he has no interest in overriding Barbara's will, and while sure, he could be lying, I doubt they'd spend two issues on him saying nothing but lies. And when Barbara escapes, she doesn't want revenge on Diana, she wants to be her equal. I have a suspicion that, at least at first, their relationship is going to be more like Bruce and Croc. Cheetah as Diana's horrifying, yet powerful, ally. Wouldn't be the first time AWW did this- we all thought Zatanna was gonna be a villain and instead we got yuri.

If Barbara does go on a villain arc, I expect it'll happen more due to her own preexisting need for validation, not any compulsion from Urzkartaga. And we'll probably have at least some time where they work together before that happens.

When she's so devoted to the ones she loves, the quickest way to unbalance her is to put her in a situation where she can't help them. All she can do is wait for the month in the Underworld to expire, and she's going a lot more extreme than we've seen her before. Her turning against Hecate would be a really interesting twist on her character. Praying Circe doesn't die!
